Title: 1993 foretravel grand villa. 8.3 cummings turbo needs muffler
Post by: sl145 on November 29, 2016, 09:32:37 am
I have owned a 1993 grand villa 300 hp with a turbo charger. I need a muffler. Does anyone know what the specs are. Plus I need the top roller piece on one of the sliding shower doors  Triangular shaped shower..  Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love my Foretravel. Owned it 9 years.

If you want to go back with OE muffler, look on the muffler for the PN-- most have the number stamped on them.

On the other hand, you might want to consider replacing your stock muffler with a aftermarket product.  This is a very popular upgrade among Forum members.  Link below to a long-running (4+ years) thread on this subject, which should answer every question you might have about the pros and cons of this modification.

search the forum for resonator, LOTS of info on the subject. - skip the muffler - "Aero"  5050XL I think is a common part number - cheaper, lighter, runs cooler, less back pressure, etc.

We have a 1993 Grand Villa with the 8.3 Cummings previous owner removed the muffler and installed a straight pipe. Another alternative.

A Foretravel owner I know had a straight pipe on his Cummins 8.3 and found it too noisy, so replaced it with an Aero AT5050 resonator which is 20 inches long. The Aero AT5050 is louder than the Aero 5050XL muffler which is 30 inches long and you may not have enough room it.
I replaced my M11 OEM muffler with a Magnaflow muffler because it is quieter than the Aero 5050XL. It is not louder than the OEM muffler but is a deeper tone. According to Aero, the 5050XL has lower back pressure than other mufflers.
