John,

Have him set up a (free) account on this Cummins Corp website with his engine serial number:

Cummins QuickServe Online (http://quickserve.cummins.com/info/index.html)

Then search for fuel pump.

I don't know if this page will be viewable-- it is for my ISL on this Cummins Corp website: http://quickserve.cummins.com/qs3/portal/parts/option_detail.html?path=/qs3/parts/99/z/06.05/fs9340

That may be the correct one for some ISL's.  For our 2003:  3945501

http://quickserve.cummins.com/qs3/portal/parts/option_detail.html?path=/qs3/parts/99/z/06.05/fs9340

That is why I suggest using the engine serial number on the Cummins Corp website to verify.

ISC and ISL: The dataplate is located on the top side of the gear housing.

Out of curiosity,
What on earth does your friend need a lift pump for??

PS. Rather than get a new pump, I strongly suggest getting a used piece form a scrap yard or getting it to a factory authorised service center..  way too much for a new pump..

Scrap yards have tons of them available because they simply "rarely" go bad..

BTW; which code did you get, #/559?
