We are about to purchase a 2001 Foretravel 36' U320. This MH has been seen by Foretravel owners who I have a great deal of respect for, but considering the amount of money we are about to spend, and given the advice that these forums seem to agree on, we have decided that we would like to have a professional, independent third party inspect the MH before we finalize the purchase.
We have met the owners, who are wonderful folk, have been given a complete tour of the MH and also had the owner drive us around. My wife and I didn't want to drive the MH until we completed the confidence course offered by Lazy Days in Tucson, which we both took that following week. The owners have all the records and have done extensive upgrades to the MH. It is a beauty.
We request any recommendation for an inspection service in the Phoenix area, hopefully by someone who was happy with the quality of the work. We need to have this done in the very near future, so I hope this post is approved and that someone out there can help us. We believe this will be money well spent, and hope that the sellers understand our concerns. Thank you for any help.
We cannot wait to become FT owners.
We are very impressed by the quality and workmanship we can clearly see for ourselves.
I would take it to Massey's Diesel & RV repair, they are located at 1417 S 59th Ave, Phoenix 85043 for the chassis inspection. They have a 60 ton lift and their pricing are inline. I had a safety inspection done after I bought mine which resulted the need for rear brake job including a rotor, engine batteries, coolant\rubber hose replacement and fluid change.
For a RV stuff RV Master Techs at 12445 W. Glendale Ave, Glendale, AZ 85307 are knowledgeable about Foretravel's and good to work with.

Thanks for the recommendation. I am a little confused, though.... Jason at RV Master Tech says he has tech look over the chassis, as well as all the " rv " stuff. Massey ONLY does chassis and mechanical stuff. You suggest that we use BOTH services. Aside from the expense, we are asking the seller to take the MH to both places. I hope he understands and is willing to do this! I hoped there was one place we could trust to do a complete, professional inspection, as they do at MOT. Thanks, again!
I agree with Willey. Have used Massey's for years on chassis. Never used RV Master Techs but have heard good things.

Be sure whoever you use is familiar with checking the BULKHEADS. They are one of the few "unique to Foretravel" inspection items. Repair can range from a few dollars of owner-done work to many, many coach bucks (thousands).
I don't believe Tom at Massey's knows about the bulkhead inspection. You could print off some pictures/directions from this forum though and bring them with you. He will be able to figure it out and inspect the areas.
