Post by: wayne m on December 09, 2016, 02:17:16 pm
i was cruising the lemon lot on foothills drive in the yuma foothills
today and saw a 2000 40 ft. 320 with a slide, for sale. asking price $29,999.00.
the decals were taken off.  there is a sign on it that says smoker's coach
and needs tlc.  i don't know anymore about it.  might be a project for somebody?

Rather than starting another thread on foretravels for sale,  I am just going to add a craigslist listing I ran across in this one.
This is a 1988 for sale in Lakeland Florida.  Looks rough and would likely need a lot of work, but it is cheap so might be worth the price $1800

Sad to see these fine old coaches when they approach the bottom of the depreciation curve.  That '88 probably sold for around $140,000 new, so at $1800 it's at the 1% line.  The expense of putting it back in first class, safe driveable condition would be off-putting to most prospective buyers (except perhaps JohnH).

We bought our '93 for 10% of original price.  I believe the 10% line is the "sweet spot" in the curve.  When you start out with a well built, quality product like a Foretravel, buying at that level can provide a totally useable, roadworthy coach that's ripe for "personalization" at manageable cost.

Same with my 91 U300 Bought it for 9k have  15 total in it now. But I took a risk and bought a coach and never eve heard the engine run,I had no idea of the shape of the plumbing etc. It turned out to be a winner! I couldn't even buy a POS pop up camper for what I have in this thing and I got to meet all you nice folks too boot.
