Stump,
That should be the  correct # for the rear on his '97  U 295. It should also fit the ' 97 U 320.

Pads should be  KIT 15625 PM,

As always it is best to pull the # off your axle and double check.

I doubt you will find them in stock in your area that are affordable. Is the numbers posted above correct? Maybe they can expedite ship?

You can buy the rotor and pads through NAPA.

IIRC the price for the rear rotor was about $250 from NAPA but I can't recall the price of the brake shoes.

Went to Fleet Pride today and picked up 2 rotors 2 sets of pads,2 sets of slide pins 2 inner hub seals, I hope all the parts are correct wont know until Monday when shop opens. Total for everything was around $1300.00. These are for the rear.

Hans,

Just had our brakes done at MOT.  The part number for the pads was KIT15625PM (contains 4 pads, does two brakes).  The same part number as listed in posts above for newer models.  Shop around for cheapest price.

Don't know the front rotor number - did not need to replace ours.

New slide pins are in KIT15017 (2 pins, does one brake)

WARNING! I got brake rotors from FindItParts that were not machined correctly. (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=29444.0;attach=45951)

The new rotor in the picture is from FindIt, note the missing machined inset at the top of both rotors. Cost me $200 to have the machining done after we received the rotors. It was the correct Meritor number, just not correctly completed before sent to FindIt.

My two cents.....

What is that inset machined for? What goes in it?

There may be a matching boss on the wheel that fit in the inset trues/aligns the wheel when installed.  Should be a good snug fit.

IF your rotor is 3218T1008, it needs the lip. I believe Meritor shipped an incomplete batch to FindItParts. They had 8 left when I bought mine, and confirmed all 8 did not have the machining.

Have to ask the question, will meritor cover the $200?

When you need to order rotors, check the wide section of the ventilated rotor for your part number, it is stamped  there.

It never hurts to ask.  I believe they should or send you a proper part.  Should be implied manufacturing warranty.

The back rotors were both replaced in October. The part numbers were correct, I think it was a bad run.
