I am new to motorhomes and as i was trying to adjust one ot the baggage doors today i noticed the Inverter was off. Now i barely know what an inverter is but i assume it converts 12v to shorepower? Anyone care to offer a brief primer on when and why one would turn it off? I assume it would be on if one were able to run, say, the microwave on the inverterr while dry camping?
On that model the switch on the inverter is off and the inverter is turned on with the remote panel inside the coach. That is just the way it was designed.

That switch needs to be in the off position and you control the inverter through the control panel inside. If you have a Link 2000 there is an instruction manual in the files here on the Forum. If you would include your coach info like model and year it would be a big help in narrowing down answers.

You should try and connect with another member near you and go over your new coach. After seven years, I'm still finding new things. You probably noticed that the user manual is not very comprehensive if you even have one.

I leave my inverter on all the time so all 110v systems are operational. The only exception would be during extended boondocking where I wouldn't want the small electrical drain in caused in stand by mode. Others turn theirs on and off as needed.
