Title: Battery Charging
Post by: John Morales on January 01, 2017, 02:04:34 pm
If my inverter is setup to charge my AGM house batteries will the inverter charge my lead acid chassis batteries correctly with the boost switch on or should I not rely on the boost to keep them charged?  Will it damage or over charge my batteries?

Thanks, John M.

AGM and flooded batteries are similar charge rates.

You should not use the boost switch as a means of keeping the chassis batteries charged because if the 120 fails all batteries are tied together and the current needed to keep the boost solenoid energized will run down all batteries. Much better to either install a trickle charger on the chassis batteries or like an echo charger or equivalent
