what makes the generator cut on when it's set on automatic and how long does it run before it shuts off
Low voltage on and battery charged voltage off
Depends on which AGS system you have and lots of other variables. Number of batteries, battery voltage, type & condition, charger output, etc. I don't know about any of the others but with the Magnum AGS it is user defined. It can be based on voltage, % State of Charge, cabin temperature or a simple timer. Duration is also configurable. I would think its most commonly triggered to start by low battery voltage, then remain running until voltage is recovered. A couple of hours to get back to 90% usually, then shut down?
Thanks guys just trying to cover my buns and get to know little bit more thanks
The literature for 1999 U270/U290/U320 says that the autostart will cut in at about 12.2V (which is considered 50% discharged) and cut off at after seeing 14V.
The factory one just has voltage settings adjustable with dip pins. Poster has not identified his coach, I am only sure of ours.
2001 foretravel U295 10 k gen after two years of not knowing how to use the inverter things are starting to sink in thanks for the help
Include year & model of your coach and answers will more appropriate, your name also helps. Foretravel changed things over time. Our gen auto start turns on at an adjustable low-voltage set point, like 12.2 volts. And turns off after an adjustable time has passed, like 1-hour. Enjoy the learning journey.
Is this standard or a add on , for a 1996 U-295 ?
