I'm looking at a 1997 U320 40 foot. All the window awnings will need to have the fabric replaced. A total of 6. The larger one will need to be replaced too. Does anyone have an idea what kind of price I be looking at. And where to get the replacement fabric.
Thanks for your replays
Howdy Busnut,
I can't help you on pricing, but this is where I would start investigating. Probably can get budget pricing and find a dealer. Awnings By Zip Dee - Rv Awnings, Folding Chairs, Rv Accessories (http://www.awningsbyzipdee.com/)
I have been to their place, very professional and customer friendly.
Good Luck, Dave A
I got the same Sunbrella as my awnings at a 1/3rd the price in Mazatlan. Maybe they ship to the border or US.

Zip Dee is in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
On each of your awnings you will have 2 tags. One tag gives the Zip Dee Work order # and the other gives the size/location. If you give Zip Dee a call with the WO# they can quote you for all of your awnings or only some.
We purchased Sunbrella material from Sailrite. We also purchased a Sailrite sewing machine to remake ours. We did make and replace the large LR awning. The cost for the machine and the fabric was about $450.00. The single awning made by Zip Dee was about $550.00.
Our 42 has new awnings, thanks JohnS, but we are still carrying the sewing machine. I should probably sell it. :D
FWIW
If one is inclined to sew their own awnings, I would recommend that you look at ebay. You can purchase the material for about $7 per yard and then it is a matter of sewing the awnings. I have bought this material off ebay and have been happy with same. Best of travels.
Hey, my new buddy (with Sewing Machine) Scott and Other Awninging Friends:
I can see a Awning-Palooza happening in 2017. Bunch of fabric from web delivered by drones to the desert where we learn from Scott to sew a space-age fabric (that might last twenty years) using solar power. Adult education at its finest! Each one teach one. Awning-Palooza!
PS: We got a real kick out of meeting you and Carol at MOT, Scott! Best to Harley.Paul
Thanks this is every helpful :)
Busnut,
If you need new awning material you also need to look closely at your "Flex Key". If we had the awnings apart for canvas replacement I would replace the flex key also. Flex Key is sold by the foot and I have found Zip Dee is not out of line on pricing although you can find it cheaper on a 1000' role.
Pamela
It was the tearing of our Flex Key that caused us to replace both parts. The stitching of the LR awning was also deteriorating showing open seams. We did use awning tape for short term repair. We made the Flex Key as well as the awning.
For the only yard dummy on here would you explain what
the flex key is?
Carter-
Carter,
On our Zip Dee awnings with the aluminum armadillo cover this is the flexable fabric hinge that connects that cover to the awning mounting base that is screwed to the side of the coach.
Pamela
Yup sent them the number and they sent the right awnings. Of Scott, you have new springs in the LR slide awning too.
Shade Pro out of San Diego. they are online also. I buy all kinds from them for jobs I do durning the summer when home.. Awnings run about $275.00 delivered, $100.00 for windows. Fast awesome service.

Looks like they are Carefree Acrylic? Different material than Sunbrella - I think.
Yes Scott they are the inferior vinyl that SOBs use and weather out not the quality of Sunbrella at all.
