Title: TV Wiring Diagram
Post by: Nick Cagle on February 05, 2017, 07:01:45 pm
This project started because of the need to watch different channels on the tv's at the same time. Seems the other half isn't too interested in NASCAR or football games. There are three TV's and inputs from over the air antenna, cable vision, and satellite. We wanted any TV to be able to select any input and different channel than the other two. I almost made it. The only exception is the front TV and the outside TVd share the same Satellite Receiver so if they are both watching satellite it has to be the same channel.

One of the main considerations was that the only cable to both the rear and outside TV's only have a single coax cable to them, so all switching etc is done at the front of the coach.

I have attached a wiring diagram and will be happy to answer any questions it might bring up.

Hope this helps someone.

Nick

The front tv and the basement tv will need their own receivers to be able to get different channels. The receivers should be able to record more than one channel at a time, depending on what type of reciever you have. But a reciever can only send out one signal, therefore two TVs with the same program.

The old picture in a picture TVs had the two channel thing going on but that was a TV thing and only worked on cable tv because back then you could get channels without any box at all.

Or possibly connect the basement tv to a bedroom tv reciever and then those two TVs would get the same program and the DW could watch LR TV separate from the outside tv. iMHO

Unless things have changed with receivers. Been out of the business a while and technology changes fast.

Nick,

What is that small black thing on the side of your rear TV cabinet?

In which bay is your TV mounted?

Nick,

Your last image of the TV panel situated in the bay, Was that from the factory? It made me think about surrounding the panel as you had shown while the Monitor was mounted on something like this:

MORryde TV40-002H Horizontal Sliding TV Mount - Adjustable Depth

The whole enchilada slides out with a slightly undersized wraparound frame. Could look very sanitary.

It is a piece of velcro put there by a previous owner.  I don't use it and will remove and clean surface,  The out side TV is in the second from front compartment on passenger side.  Coach is a 40ft and front compartment is fuel tank and LP tank.

Nick, I might be late to the party, but if you don't have it figured out yet, here is what I did.
In our 97 U295, I ran a new coax inside the roof channel to the rear TV. It is on it's own new coax, so the outside TV is also on it's own.The old coax.Super easy to run the cable.
I pulled the rear TV out, drilled a 1" hole into the channel, then snaked it back from the front TV cabinet.Caution, drill the hole slowly, there is wiring to the camera in the channel.
Our coach has the old 5 way TV1 TV2 ant cable VCR box.So it was a little easier. I got rid of the VCR, hooked the outside TV coax to VCR out.One satellite receiver is hooked to sat in, the other is hooked to aux. The blue ray is only hooked to the front TV via a second HDMI input (it has 3). The rear TV has a DVD built into it.
You can just split the coax to the rear TV on one of the satellite output's, and add another A/B switch or A/B/C switch if you want to run both satellite receivers to the outside TV.
I plan to run a HDMI cable later to the rear TV, for now it's on coax through the switch box..The front TV is hooked up HDMI, so I leave the switch box in ANT. mode.

Hope this helps

It's a 29". A 32" would block the cabinet door.
