Last night I stayed in a parking lot in Florida. This morning I took a shower and did the dishes. When I did walk around before starting the engine I noticed moisture underneath the center of the engine. Didn't taste like oil or coolant but was definitely fresh, maybe a half cup of liquid . At first I wrote it off as condensation but as driving I realized that I didn't have the generator running nor had I started the engine yet, so what could have created that condensation?
The water pressure compressor was running a lot, could that have created that kind of condensation in such a short time? And would it have expelled near the engine? I'm thinking it is far more likely I have a leak in the grey water drain line. I will be at a good spot to pull off some panels in a few hours and any advice anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks.
Thoughts from a Sunday afternoon arm-chair technician:
A. You tasted a unknown liquid you found on the ground in a parking lot! :o What were you thinking!
B. None of your fresh water lines or black or grey waste water lines run directly under the engine, so not a likely source.
C. If it was me, I would just watch the next time you park, and see if the scenario repeats. If so, investigate further.
D. Go rinse out your mouth (repeatedly), with Listerine.
James,
#1 may be the hint as to why you experienced condensation, if that is truly what you have.
#2 Being in Florida do you have any idea what your dew point was? We have woke up in our travels to a weather change and the engine was dripping wet like we had washed the engine down with a water hose. Keep check on it to see if it happens again and narrow down where it is dripping from.

Correct.
If heavy dew, the large, cold block of metal (i.e. engine) can condense quite an amount of water.
Easy to verify-- just look at the engine pan. If water droplets all over it, suspect it is condensation.
We just left Mustang Island TX where the humidity never went much below 97%. Every morning the chairs were wet, water was dripping off the awnings, all of the windows were wet and the entire coach was wet and dripping. I agree with the condensation idea.
Humidity was high. I did see moisture on the pan. And the dishes i did weren't completing dry even after sitting 6 hours.
I guess I've spent too much time in cold dry winter MD to know these basics. I'll throw a piece of cardboard underneath the area before my next shower to test and be
Thank you all very much for answering my newbie questions!
Could you tell if the dog was pregnant from the taste? >:D >:D :)) :))
I was wondering who walked their dog in that spot prior to you parking there?!
I really should read the entire thread before posting. 😳
