We have life scheduled until 19 March, then have a break until 1 April. I'm thinking that we should have enough time then to get from Alice, TX to Nac for an oil change and two new tires, then get up to SW MO by 1 April. So far only FOT has worked on our coach when we've been there, and I'm wondering if maybe this time I ought to give someone else a crack at it. Changing oil and filters ought to be easy enough for a skinny guy, and a tire shop that is used to big tires ought to be able to take care of them. So, FOT, MOT, or Berndt for the oil change? Who for two Michelins? Yes, we're FMCA members so could get the discount.
I don't really like staying at FOT if they aren't doing the work (yes, I know I could). Do either Berndt or MOT offer overnight stays?
David,
Have stayed at Bernd's and MOT overnight. They'll do the oil/filter change and send your tires to Herman Power. Old Town also does the work but I don't know about their overnight facilities.
MOT yes on the stays - Bern as well, but pretty much a truck parking lot - Extreme ups it a notch if you can't stay in your coach while they are working on it they offer a free dog freindly apt.
Cant speak to Old Town motors - my guess would be yes....
any of those can do the oil - a really good idea to get to know MOT and Bernd and Extreme while you are in town
I would look at MOT and they have a special rate going right now for oil changes.
Our MOT oil change in Jan was about $270 for the ISM11. They do have spots to stay overnight. If you are a Motorcade member you can stay at FOT even if you are not getting service donr there. Beverly said we did not need to check in at the service desk.
MOT does and I know they have a discount on something, not know what.
Talk Eric or Janes Johnson, tell of engine problem and tried get here fir the oil and lube discount but engine stopped that They have two options park but have to move a hundred feet or do to dump sewer Anxious to see you, we gone though to flowers of central Texas late March to late April, will that miss you here? MOT also honors motorcade discount Old Town Motorhomes is an option, not Bernd. I go with MOT if anything more than oil just due to greater experience there FOT closes at 4 pm if go there
Hugs to you guys

Another option not mentioned is Beau Reese in nearby Cushing. I have him come to my home base in Livingston to do my service, very convenient.

You can generally stay overnight at Old Town. Their standard shop rate (as of today) is $90/hr. I don't know how that compares to any special offers at MOT and FOT this spring (since I don't recall the other shops' standard rates).
We also like Beau Reece if you are in a location that would work for that option.
WoW.... $270...
Feeling blessed.. FULL SYNTHETIC for gen and c8.3 top off fluides, check belts, hoses and grease drive train
$330
Just had work done at Old Town and yes you can hook up overnight. We were there two nights. They did my semi annual general check, oil, air gage, coolant, some dash work and Beau set my gen set valves for me. Hours were nicely accounted for. Very straight forward, courteous and affordable. Highly recommended.
We are at Old Town right now. Can overnight in parking lot w 30 amp (and a few 50 amp if you arrive when they are open). Call ahead if you want to arrive after hours. Open 8-5. Service rate $90 per hour, knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Will post more when all our service is done. Cummins and chassis service, gen service, air dryer service, hydraulic service, living room slide bladder replacement, bladder block, and more being done. Another couple here is having all the air suspension bags replaced.
We had Herman Power Tire Service 212 South St Nacogdoches order and install 6 new MIchelin tires last year. They worked with FMCA and are familiar with the program. I cannot say enough about Herman Power. I was very particular about the age of our "New" tires and wanted tires dated within two months of installation. Several other area dealers had some tires that were already a year old. (These tires age out and rarely wear out so the age is important.) Be sure to check the sides for the dates, don't just take someone's word for it. Herman's drove two hours away to get me properly dated tires and get us on the road the next day.
WE, too, travel to "the mothership" in Nac for basic maintenance work and have found them to be helpful and I like how they let us watch repairs, ask questions and have finally solved an intermittent starting issue we dealt with for three years. Always stayed at Camp ForeTravel.
Bruce and Pat O.
MOT now has a open dump station and 4 back in 50 amp sites with sewer drops at the new building across the street from the coach sales. Many more spaces with 50 amp and water, no sewer drop.
Well things are coming together on our visit to Nac.
Looks like MOT the week of April 17th
FOT week of April 24th
Old Towne week of May 1st and finally Extreme for 2 weeks starting May 8th...
By then I should be broke and tired of Nac as well....
At least you are spreading your coach bucks around. Doing your part for the economy of Nac.
