Planning to upgrade the tv and vcr in the bedroom of our 95 gv u280. At first glance I cannot see how the tv is secured in the cavity. I do not want to force it and damage surroundings .
please offer help
Thanks Donnie
I removed the TV in my U295 by removing the panel inside the closet. A quick look at U280 floor plans on Beam Alarm reveals the tv against the closet wall in all three 36 foot floor plans. Take a look inside the closet. I had to remove the clothes rod.
Good luck

ok thx I will look at that
Donnie
Here are a few photos from my 95 300 when I removed the TV.

Mine was like Ed's. There was a small piece of plywood with a 1x1 on the end that kept the TV from sliding.
You can remove the closet wall to get access to the screws. Just start unscrewing stuff, it'll come out. Note - once you have a few screws off, you can actually push enough to make the TV pop out the front accidentally (don't ask me how I know), so either be careful or put a few pillows down to protect the walls!
I did not think mine could have come out the front, but did not experiment with that possibility. As I recall, there was a short board, with a metal bracket, at the back of the TV. That has to come out. there was a 1" x 2" board that angled diagonally across the opening, supporting a black "shelf" board. Remove all of that (square head drive) and you can slide it out the back. it is very *heavy*.
Probably helps to remove the top drawer, to see what is going on.
Good luck,
Trent
As I recall, we removed the top drawer, maybe the top two, and reached in and disconnected the wiring, then pulled the tv put the front. It came out quite easily but it was helpful to have two of us to maneuver it becaus of the weight. I think there may have been a wooden frame around it that we unscrewed and removed before starting. It's been a while so not totally sure on that last point. Might be thinking about the front tv.
I accessed the back of mine by removing the closet panel. Since most flat panel TV's are too large for the opening, I mounted the new TV on the wall on the other side of the bedroom door and made a storage cabinet out of the old TV box. I ran the cable and electric down the hollow aluminum extrusion that fastens the side wall to the roof. Search for 96 U270 Rear TV Replacement as I don't know how to post a link to the topic.
Jerry,
What did you use for the floor of the area over the drawers? I noticed that height was a little higher than the floor of the cabinet itself. Did you just go with that, or did you do something like Don or John would have done?
Thanks,
Trent
Like most, get that square driver and access from the closet. After removal of the clothes bar support, remove the plywood access panel and after that it is rather self evident. I replaced mine with a dvd/tv. I wanted to be able to play some of my dvds. If I was doing again today. I would have done if available a smart tv with dvd. If not available, then probably a smart TV with a dvd behind the TV. There will be plenty of room. Best of travels.
