OK guys need some help if possible. We are working on friends CCoach auto awning as it came out most of the way then stopped and could not be retuned. Found the breaker had tripped but first wound it in manually. It was tough sledding to get back and was a bit easier to wind it in by me pushing and supporting the end while Marcell wound it in. Once in it would come back out with remote but not return. I think that it should have been easier to wind in but any ideas on what would cause it not to rewind with both remote and main switch. I am first thinking it needs some lubing to rotare easier but that means taking it apart to get at motor shaft etc. Does anyone with an electric know howw easy/tough it is to wind back manually. I am thinking thehanging out weight etc and being 'tight" may mean it needs lube.
Thanks

I'm not sure.. It could be the battery or air compressor. I would call Zip-Dee. They have been extremely helpful in the past.
no air on it and battery was checked. It did not run from main panel either.
Will be delving into it in morning. I feel that weather has got to it and motor could not have power to do return, as it is very tight to use manual handle for emergency rollup.
Thanks anyway.

John - Is it a Zip Dee 2002 style awning with 2 round spring arms connected to the coach and the awning?
Might want to try the Country Coach Yahoo Group or iRV2 for answers. I don't believe Foretravel used an electric Zip Dee, although they did use and air/electric one in 2002.
Scott. it is the roof mounted type with shield to form a matching frame around all roof exterior.
Have not had chance to get to it yet as working on their alum'n 24ft trailer as we found a bearing problem so going to replace timkins etc roller brgs. One thing after another!!!
See you soon

thx Michelle had not thought of that.
We put a new motor in this one 3 yrs ago as well!!
It might have a bad motor or check inside the electric box on the roof for water, have seen many Country Coaches where water has gotten into the junction box and damaged the wires
Yep, that is why we had to put a new motor in last time and when finished I fixed all of the entry points for water etc so feel that is not the case, but we will see. It extends no problem just will not return. It is a 120 vac motor so should have the power.

Did not get a chance to go back to it as the trailer wheels we were checking had 1 bad set of brgs so had to go find replacements and when we got back at 2pm it was 31c ( over 90f) and dammed hot to touch anything so we relaxed and had a beer before dinner of fresh shrimp then salad and baked salmon and a few single Malt whiskey's. Life is tough down here- really ^.^d
