Title: MOT Upholstery project complete
Post by: AC7880 on March 03, 2017, 10:32:05 pm
We had Trina at MOT upholstery shop put new thinner but firmer foam in our dinette booth seating.  Her work and her attitude is superb.  It not only looks great, but is also much more comfortable.

I highly recommend MOT upholstery shop for your needs.  They are on the opposite side of the highway  from MOT sales, in the newer building over by the MOT "campground".  Note:  We were also able to use the advertised 20% off on upholstery labor currently in effect.

All our work and shopping in Nac is now complete, so we pull out on Sunday.  We used parts department at FOT, coach service at Old Town, and upholstery at MOT.  Happy with all three.

Dan, how about some pictures of your dinette?

Did you notice how they released the cushion to remove it for upholstering?

I only saw how they unbolted by removing the drawers.  Taking the drawers out revealed lag bolts under one booth seat, and through bolts into unseen nut retainers for the other booth seat.

Our dinette seating is not the original factory booth.  It was an updated design by the previous owners.  It is more complex in it's "pieces parts" than the factory booths we have seen at FOT/MOT.  Due to that, this re-upholstery job was more difficult than the originals would have been.  We were offered one option during re-upholstery that would have no wrinkles in the back at all, or a bit more wrap around with minor wrinkles and more comfort.  We elected the more comfort option.

I'll take some pics later today if you want them.

Thanks Dan.

The pix aren't necessary, but everyone wants to see your new seats.

Dan,

That sure is an inviting area! Pretty design and a beautiful choice of coverings. Thanks for the views.

I second this commendation.  While I was in NAC for some other work Trina redid the arms on my Erkones stressless recliner.  She matched the chair's leather with some ultra leather they had available and reupholstered both arms for less than $200 total (with me doing the removal/installation).
