Yes we are plugged into 50 amp and have been for 3 weeks. We have 4 8a8d batteries about 3 years old.
Our Prosine Control Panel - 2.5 shows: 13.00 DC Voltage, 5 amps Current, Inverter in "Standby" mode and charger shows "Ready".
I presume that I should be showing at least 13.75 DC Voltage?????
Thoughts?
Scott, turn inverter to off and charger off, now what does it show for voltage??
JohnH
13.00 DC volts.
Turned back on. Now shows: 13.75 in Standby.
A reading lower than 13.75 VDC should say 13.00 until it goes below 13.00.
Mine said 13.00 also so I followed John's advice, obtaining the same result as you Scott.
But when the charger is first turned back on doesn't it go into "bulk" charge causing the higher reading?
Inverter on or off should make no difference for charging function when on shore power or generator.
Depending on temperature, 13.0 is a little low (if that is the actual voltage-- not just idiot lights). 13.2-13.5 is more standard for float voltage.
Idiot lights.
Will be digging into this when we get to Tucson next week. On batteries am only getting about 4.5/5 hrs before auto generated start starts gen set. With 4 8a8d batteries should have min of 440 ah before I get to 12.2?
Thoughts?
I hate to mention this, you could have a bad battery/batteries or connections that are resistive somewhere.
Have you cleaned and tightened the battery terminals?

Scott,
Tell us your voltage at the batteries from a digital voltmeter. If the idiot lights show 13.0 and the next increment is 13.5, you may be just fine.
BTW, we just pulled into the FMCA Convention in Chandler.
All 4 are reading 14.1.
Jim - I have not checked the battery terminal clamp tightness. Will do that tomorrow as well as cleaning the terminals.
Brett - Have fun in Chandler. I might drive up on the 9th to have a look see.
If the batteries are tied together they will all read the same. To get a "valid" reading you will need to disconnect all batteries, let sit for at least an hour, and then check. PIA I know... :(
We have several shade tree engineers here at Justin's to help you out. :)
see ya
ken
Thanks Ken - The batteries are all tied together. I am sure we take you up on that offer. It is a PIA which is why I haven't done it yet. :D
3/9 is my busy day. Might see you at one of the Seminars I present:
Suspensions – Thursday, 3/ 9, 11:30 a.m. -12:45 p.m. Seminar 2
Caterpillar – Thursday, 3/9, 3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Seminar 2 (a good one to attend even if you have a Cummins engine-- 95% of the problems are not in the engine itself. The support systems {cooling, fuel, air, electric, etc} is what I discuss).
Diesel RV Club Social– Thursday, 3/9, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.Seminar 2 (suspect there might be free pizza!)
Maybe the RV club social. Being an FMCA member, can I get in?
