Title: Flooring & Carpet Complete
Post by: John Morales on March 28, 2017, 07:36:43 pm
The project was a large under taking but well worth it.  My goal was to get rid of all of the baby blue carpet especially in the potty area. I never did this before but I am a tool and die maker by trade so I applied the same skills to get the job done.  All of the flooring from front to back was completed.  I also changed the carpet around the bed base, entry step and around the driver dash area.  I ended up tiling around the potty and laminate on the floor.  The entire job was about solving problems as I went through the project.  Removing the wood floor in the kitchen was a challenge. I also had to resolve my issue of hiding the electrical wires along the passenger side.  That was accomplished with a ledge some of the same flooring and then trimmed out the entire coach.  The trim work was by far the most time consuming part of the project.  I had to search for the right trim and color match the floor boards.  Dealing with all the angels and the rounded outside corners was tricky.  I ended up putting rubber step nose around the entry step.  Overall, I am very happy with the way the project turned out.  Now on to the next project.

Nice job John esp' for a Tool and Die maker ( I did that too in my early days in England). You never forget the way to do things do you? Even woodwork jobs have to be straight and level etc.

I'm no expert, but looks like a PRO job to me!  We also used Roppe rubber stair treads and trim at the entry - they work great!

John I want to change the carpet in my bedroom slide. I have a 40' pusher.
How difficult will this job become?
I want to go back with new carpeting for sound deadening reasons
Thanks

Did you use glue down floor or floating floor? Mind sharing the brand? Great job of sorting through all the detail fitment. First rate job.

It is a floating floor.  It's called AquaGuard, I bought it from Floor & Decor.
