I have on of these kitchen faucets that I need to put O-rings in and there's a supply house here that probably has the correct parts, but the first thing they will ask me for is the model number. I couldn't find any info on American Standard's website concerning model numbers so I thought someone here might help.
It also appears that I will have to disconnect the spray hose from underneath and remove it by pulling it up through the top in order to replace the two big O-rings. The spray hose may be a replacement because it's chrome and like the one in the shower (spiral ribbed), not smooth braided nylon. It's almost like I can't remove the spout to get at the O-rings inside because it's binding on the spirals of the hose inside.
Does anyone here have experience with American Standard and can give me the model number, or some info about spout removal?
Have you looked in your original Foretravel Binder Books The spec sheet on that might be in there with all the other appliance information.
Thanks Stump, I did. There's one for the bathroom faucet but not the kitchen.
With water off remove handle should be a allen set screw, unscrew top, under top there should be a cartridge held in place by 3 screws, remove these and replace it there is no rebuild, all done from top, while in there replace the O rings for the spout. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and look at their replacement cartridges for further info.
I have done as you suggested but I cannot lift the spout up more than an inch or so before it's hard bound. It won't move up any further so that's why I considered the hose itself as the problem.
Is it marked American Standard? If it's not, probably a knock off could be a problem getting parts.
Not 100% sure but wife sells American Standard thought tis looks close
American Standard 4205.104 Parts List and Diagram : eReplacementParts.com (http://www.ereplacementparts.com/american-standard-4205104-reliant-pullout-kitchen-faucet-parts-c-146040_146124_146188.html)
Thanks Charlie, that looks like it except for a bit different shaped spray head which isn't a problem.
Nancy, yes it's American Standard.
Your faucet appears identical to ours in our 2003 U-320. It is American Standard Connoisseur, Model # 4600.100/104. If you were the original owner of your coach, American Standard (800- 223-0068) offers a lifetime warranty on all parts. They just set me a new hand spray and hose assembly for no charge last week. Hope it helps!
Bill, that's the info I need, thanks.
Here's a picture of the hose on my faucet assembly. Was yours like this?
As I pull upward the spout binds up on the hose inside, so I guess the hose needs to be removed first. Bummer!
Were you able to replace your hose easily? The fittings that need to be undone up under the sink look difficult to get to.
