Title: Towing
Post by: GeeBee on April 06, 2017, 09:07:01 pm
Hi everyone I got the blue ox towing system for the Jeep. Please what size electric tow connector is on the back of the Foretravel? I need to buy an electric cable to go from the Jeep which has a 6 to the motorhome which is a 6, or a 7? It is two inches diameter but the metal plugs are only one inch around. Thanks!

Ours is a 7-pin connector. You will need a 7 to six adapter, or you can buy the proper cable directly from Blue Ox.

Go to a NAPA store and have them explain your options with the adapters/cables they stock. Many have a truck counter and the staff is experienced.  Camping World is another option but I have less confidence you would be happy with their help.

Which year coach?  They might be different.  Also keep in mind that previous owners (if this is a pre-owned coach) may have had a different tow plug installed depending on what they towed.

It's a 2012 original plug. Looks like a 7

We made our own cable and put the wires in split loom.  Our Jeep and Foretravel have different plugs.

I don't think FT ever made a coach without a 7 spade connector.

I got tired of the small connectors, corrosion and wiring problems. I made a cable with big seven pole blade connectors on both ends with the appropriate receptacles on the coach and on the toad. Big cable, big connectors, no problems.  Easier to use too.
