Title: Changing puck light bulbs
Post by: Kevin on April 08, 2017, 08:09:05 pm
Good evening!  Have not had to change a bulb in our puck lights in a long time.........have two that I need to replace.  I forget how to remove the gold ring / cover and don't want to break them.

Could someone please remind me the best way to remove?

Many thanks in advance!

Turn them counter clockwise and they will come apart

Thanks for the quick response, tried that and no luck........they seem to be on there pretty tight.

Kevin,

Did you dampen the palm of your hand then use the palm to both push up and turn counter clock wise.  They may be stuck and it will take some finagling to twist them 1/4 of  a turn.  If they are stuck to the wood (from wood  polish) you may have to break them loose with a small knife blade then do the palm thing.

I changed mine recently... the heat had them really hard to turn to get off.. I was painting mine when I removed so I used a very large set of channel lock pliers to remove... I actually started sweating in the winter time trying to get them of with my bare hands and a little frustrated to say the least

Try sliding a credit card between the plastic bezel and the roof material.  Some times the edge of the bezel/cover gets stuck to the vinyl roofing material.  :)
