Title: Renovation Continues & Completed
Post by: John Morales on April 15, 2017, 03:42:54 pm
Well we started with removing all the carpet and installed our plank flooring from front to back and tiled the toilet area. Then we replaced all of the carpet at the entrance, cockpit area and around the bed.  Today we completed the backsplash in the bathroom with matching tile from the toilet area after removing the mirror.  Then we removed the Corrian around the kitchen backsplash and replaced it with tile.  I used a epoxy mortar and grout in one product.  I was able to lay and grout at the same time.  It is used in kitchen counters, heavy wet areas indoors and outdoors.

John,

Your work looks great!

How did you go about removing the Corrian backsplash in the kitchen?  Was it stuck on pretty good, and did removing it pull any surface off of the side walls of the coach?

Chris,  that corrian came off in pieces. It came off using a putty knife and pry bar.  Before taking it off I ran a sharp utility knife around the edge to cut the wall paper.  The corrian came of with the wall paper but ended where I had cut around the perimeter.  The mirror in the bathroom came off in pieces also.  Job took some effort, but it's done.  Very satisfied with the end result.

Looks real nice John!  Great updates!

Chris,

When we pulled off our Corian backsplash it did take small amounts of the wood off behind it.  No big deal because the thin set filled the voids.
