Title: AquaHot Electric Heating Element Status - Red
Post by: Larry Rubin on April 24, 2017, 09:34:08 am
I have an intermittent problem with my AquaHot electric heating.  On no particular event, the status turns red and prevents the electric heating from going on.  This may happen when it is on - and so turns off - or when I go to turn it on and it is already in red status. This happens with the diesel on or off.  After about 30 minutes it will go on OK but in another 30-60 minutes it goes back to red.

Per AquaHot manual, if the Electric Heating Element Status light on the control board is red, there is "an electrical overload condition (i.e. short) has occurred on the Electric Heating Element's VDC powered circuitry.

Has anyone seen this and can suggest a place to look for bad wiring?  Or is it the control board?

I have a 2004 295 with the duel electric heating elements  - model AHE 130.

Due to a lot of things, I have not yet had a chance to get to it.    But the problem seems to happen less often.
