Title: lots of info on 1995 320
Post by: farmerstu on May 04, 2017, 09:14:27 am
we are working on a mate to our own coach. a 95 U320 SE. what are the odds? i have learned a lot working on ours and much of the same work is being done for our customer. the purpose of this post is to pass on things i have learned and sourced for parts.
radiator core. if you need one i can access it made to order, upgraded and available in a couple of days. WAY less than Foretravel.
PM me if you need.

just ordered mobil 28 grease for the brake calipers from Aircraft Spruce, best price by a fair amount. an interesting point thou ,shipping one tube is about 2.50, shipping two tubes is about 5.00 and shipping three tubes is over 10.00. i ordered two!

we are going to be using Gates powergrip hose clamps for all our cooling system hoses. (they work like shrink tube, onetime use) our best price was our local NAPA.

we are doing a complete fluid and filter service, new radiator, reseal one of the fan motors,,  repair CAC, repair two broken exhaust manifold bolts and surface the manifold, new brakes and at least one rotor, install a M&G brake system and a lot of other stuff.

i will add to this thread as work progresses and time permits.

The radiator pricing would depend alot on where in the USA it will be shipped to.In this area we have Atlas radiator and most of our
radiators are atlas. What exactly do you mean by upgraded?

I researched the gates clamps, they look ok but after replacing all my hoses on my 8.3 there are some you just cannot get a heat gun
around. Will check further but do they go up to 3"?Looks like the $42 removal tool is a must.If for any reason you have a leak or
seep or have to put a new clamp on you have to drain all the coolant.

I agree with John. The Gates powergrip look pretty cool but I decided against them for the same reasons John lists. I went with constant tension clamps instead.

see ya

sorry for the delay in reply.
the upgrade to the radiator is it is 5 row instead of 4. the rows are spaced 1/2 inch apart instead of 1/4 for better air flow.
as to the gates powergrip i know of no special tool required to remove them. gates says to use a solder iron to cut them off.
we are using a lot of them on different applicators. the idea is they never leak. even constant tension will leak when cold occasionally.
we are doing a lot to this coach and i will try to update more often.

If your using the gates research the removal tool,it's $42 but looks better then a soldering gun.
