Anyone ever try the Trojan brand agm battery, continental battery has the 8d size for $490,the specs and the warr are a little
bit better then O'reillys.
Our kids used them in their U320 and were pleased. One failed but only had 12 month warranty so were out some $$$ to replace that one. The battery was swollen but didn't leak so that was good. Must have had a short.
I am trying FullRiver L-16 6v 415 amp hr batteries. Much longer warranty.
Here is an 8D variety.
Fullriver Battery DC260-12 Product Information (http://www.fullriverbattery.com/product/batteries/DC260-12)
I don't see anything about the warranty, but the 20AH rating is only 230 VS the O'reilly's 245. They prominently list the 25AH rating at 260AH which is a bit misleading as most deep cycle batteries are more commonly compared at the 20AH rate.

I did a little google research and it seems that AGM batteries can be installed on their sides, i.e., the terminals don't always have to be on top. Anyone feel strongly about installing batteries this way? Obviously the terminals need to be protected from shorting, etc.

No reason to on my coach, don't do solar and stay mainly with electricity so 2 8d batteries work fine, replacing with same size.
Don, FullRiver Batteries have a five year warranty, 2 years replacement + three years prorated. The 8Ds have a lower 20 hour rating. The L16s are higher than any other L16 AGMs at 430 amp hrs. You need two for 12 volts. Mine were $470 each at my door. Pretty cost effective per amp-hr and and pounds per amo-hr and are about the same footprint as one 8D.
An alternate choice.
Same store near me that sells Trojan sells Fullriver, will check them out.
