Title: HWH Jacks, no pressure.
Post by: Protech Racing on May 09, 2017, 03:25:11 pm
Diogged the system so far.  It is a 1988 rocker style  early computer controlled  deal ,series 100? with foldups.
Pump runs -has enough fluid.  It sounds as tho no pressure is being made. You know how it sounds as they load up-- never loads up. RPM stays the same ,like the return valve is open.
I assume that the manual retract switch opens all of the solonoids without the motor running?
The control  panel makes ground to the solenoids. The circuit  checked works fine. All 6  of the solenoids click with power.  I am looking for a reason that the manifold leaks the pressure back into the tank. Do either of the 2 bottom solonoids  leak back  on  purpose at some setting? My thinking is that they balance the pressures.
The book shows a shuttle valve . Should this  open under pressure ? and not leak back?    Are these problematic?
There also is a pressure valve  on top with a set screw.
The over pressure switch shows a little sign of dampness.  The only function should be to stop the pump running?
Thanks,MM

If the manual valves are open the levelers retract.  They are t shaped by the reservoir..

If you verified they are closed then disregard my comment

Thanks Bob. My bleed offs are right under the tank and bleed onto the ground.  Looks like a bad pump or the shuttle valve.  Have you taken one apart?  This one seems as tho it wont work as it has only one piston without a seal .  Ihope that some thing is missing on the inlet piston. But i have no known good value .  A picture of a good shuttle valve apart would be nice.
I'll see if I can hook up my pressure gauge  maybe Sat.

My memory is that the retraction valves went back to the reservoir?

These dump on the ground , right behind the bumper . No provision for tubes back into the tank.

I don't why I did not remember exactly that.  It's only been thirty years. I Must have put a catch can under the bleeds.

Took the pump apart, worn housings and gears/rotors.  I called Monarch and the tech guy said that he would not sell to me , even though I am a  legal auto service shop.  Nice guy tho and he asked for more info. I sent a few pics of the parts with sizes needed.    NA so far , but only one day.
At lunch I looked again at the housings. Milled 009-010 off of both sides, enough to remove the nasty grooves,  and put it back together.    Works fine.  I filled with Synthetic motor oil and 2 qts of type F.  Current fill for the zero turn  mowers.  3 Of the 4 rams work fine . None of the tip cylinders work and I need to look into how they work.  I fail to see how the rams can keep the bus stable as there seems to be no stabilizing stop for the rams.
Good news, all in all. The pump works.  Cleaned the shuttle valve . It works.
I will add a filter on the tank return line .
