During the PPI last week, the inspector discovered that the in-line fuse had been pulled from the aux compressor. Our deduction was that it had been disabled due to the 2 large air leaks in the HWH bladder manifold for one of the slide outs. We tested the compressor during the PPI and it ran fine. We then pulled the in-line fuse back out so the compressor would not run 24/7.
As you may have read in another topic I posted today, I'm working on those 2 leaks. After those leaks were partially resolved I decided to test the compressor. I plugged in the in-line fuse and the solenoid activated but the compressor did not start.
The pressure switch is closed and is activating the solenoid and both the line and load sides of the solenoid are hot. Is there some other device that has to be enabled to start the compressor? On my drawings all I see is the the 12 VDC line to supply power and ground to the compressor. I do not seem to have a control wire diagram that shows the pressure switch and any other device in the coach that might be needed to call for compressor start.
Thanks.
You have to be low on air pressure for it to come on.
Ditto - try bleeding the pressure off your "wet" tank...get it down below about 60 psi. The compressor should then run. If it still does not run, try turning on the HWH panel and push the "raise" button. THAT should kick the compressor on.
That makes sense. I will give that a try tomorrow (the coach is parked at my office). Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing the circuits that call for air in the coach? The pressure switch that is physically attached to the compressor is calling for air -- it has the solenoid energized.
Thanks,
Mark
Mark,
Try looking at these links they may help:

Unless I misread and the points are already together because the solenoid is energized......................
Remove the pressure switch cover and with your finger close the points. If the compressor doesn't come on then
it means your not getting power to the switch.
Keith,
Thank you so much! Just exactly what I need.

T-Man,
Thanks. I will check this in the morning.

Good morning. I installed the in-line fuse and manually pressed down the pressure switch contacts. Compressor runs just fine. I thought those contacts were closed yesterday but apparently they were not.
I took the desiccant dryer apart and had to take a screwdriver and dig out the compacted / hardened desiccant in the bottom of the bowl. Disassembled the inlet tube from the bowl and found that the screen at the bottom of the air inlet tube is about 90% occluded. See photo 1 & 2. Found an entire new Wilkerson X06-02-000 (photo 3) assembly on eBay and got that on the way here.
Examined the compressor inlet filter. It's a piece of open cell foam that sits underneath the compressor mount. See photo's 4-6. It's somewhat hardened. Have any of you replaced it? I found this air filter for under $6 delivered on Amazon:
Amazon Air Filter (https://smile.amazon.com/Arnold-Replacement-Lawn-Boy-Filter-Engines/dp/B000BPCWKK/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1494515021&sr=8-7&keywords=foam+air+filter)
Does that seems like it will work ok?
Finally, what are the desired cut-in and cut-out pressures for the aux compressor? I believe the PO adjusted the switch to try to keep the unit from running so much (instead of fixing the leaks). EDIT: Never mind, I found a post from Barry with an HWH attachment that spec's 90 for cut out and 70-80 cut in.
Mark,
It seems like you are having fun
with your new Foretravel !
I've enjoyed watching and reading your posts.

All you really needed was a replacement desiccant bowl, rather than the complete unit.

Do you think the replacement bowl includes the metal down-tube with the screen that is in the photos above?
Well I can finally answer instead of ask...I just went through this exact thing last week...mine was not QUITE as bad. Left mine in vinegar overnight and blew it out good and all is swell...ordered the desiccant beads and off I went...but I did order the bowl replacement and it came in...and the answer..(drum roll for the Newb)..YES it comes complete..
Well guess what...couldn't even answer right...I bought the whole deal. I think it was like 67.00 on ebay..
I'm pretty sure it does. You might try calling Parker Wilkerson or a distributor near you.
