Title: Front Antennas?
Post by: ViewRVs on June 13, 2017, 12:38:41 pm
I have four antennas up top.  #3 is obviously the Batwing TV antenna. One of them is for the stereo. The other is likely for the CB radio.

The 1996 brochure indicates a cellular antenna booster. Is the third one the cell phone antenna? If so, where does it lead it? Where would the booster be? Granted the technology is likely very outdated.

1 - probably AMFM
2 - cell boost
3 - TV
4 - CB  (looks like a fire stick)

The cell boost in my 96 terminated under the centre dash lift up panel in the centre of the dash. I converted it to a UHF antenna for my walkie talkies.

Compare number 1 to the antenna near the ladder at the rear, which is the AM/FM antenna for the AM/FM over the bed.

My CB and AMFM antennae were mounted similar to yours which is too close for good CB reception. I moved the CB antenna to the passenger side to obtain a spread of over seven feet between the CB and AMFM.

I agree with Wyatt, as mine is set up like that.

My "friends" call it "Central Command" with all those antennas up there.  :-)

Fred,

The rooftop cell antenna might terminate by the passenger seat side shelf. At least the is where mine does. You also might look inside the driver's dash or below it.

Thanks for information. I don't see anything next to the passenger seat. I don't see anything in the center of the dash. I guess I will start by looking under the dash. I also had the TV out. Since I know which one it is, maybe I can trace the wire.
