Title: Dyson stick vac (split from Re: vac cleaner)
Post by: Michelle on June 20, 2017, 05:45:01 pm
We did not have built in vac and recently we bought a Dyson Animal 440- rechargeable, small, has stand up, beater bar etc.  Karen has pulled up more dirt than she ever did in our 6 1/2 years living in this coach.  Works great on tile, carpet in bedroom, couch, etc.  Not cheap, but she is happy.

Bumping (ok, and split out) this very old thread - we just bought a Dyson V6 Motorhead rechargeable vac the other day, in anticipation of the next coach.  I've been "playing" with it here in the S&B.  Holy crapola this thing sucks (in a good way)!  We have a Miele canister (Aquarius) for the house and I was appalled at how much the little Dyson stick vac pulled out of the family room Berber carpet, 2 days in a row.

They are $269 at Costco until the 25th.  Pricey, but really effective and easy to use and take up very little storage space.

Have a nice Electrolux cordless now, after fooling around with "built-ins" on three coaches.  ^.^d

We also have the Dyson V8 stick, very good vacuum cleaner, one shortcoming, in my opinion, it has no hose, of facility to handle one. Our previous was a Mikita cordless, also a good vacuum.

Dyson V6 Motorhead is a surprisingly  good vac.

If you aren't in a hurry and don't mind refurbished you can buy the Dyson V6 Motorhead  here for $199.

I bought the Dyson V-8 with all the attachments. Cheryl was NOT a supporter of the V-8 because she loves her full size Dyson.
I also bought 2 charging docks so the V-8 can easily transfer to the RV.
After she tried the V-8 I have NOT seen the full size Dyson around. She is VERY pleased with the V-8 version.

Heck, I closed all the curtains and dimmed the lights tonight so I was not visible outside the house  and tried the V-8 myself. I wanted to vacumn dog hair off the sofa before I laid down on it. My voice is a little higher now and I'm a bit moodier, but I must say the vacumn worked great.
Still waiting for Cheryl to bring my beer!

I think I've only pulled our Miele canister out twice at home since we got the Dyson stick, and I now vacuum much more frequently since it's so convenient.

The V6 is the first rechargeable to pass the DW test. Have had 3 before.

Well, after reading all your comments, I decided to hunt for the Dyson V6.
Opened the local Craigslist and BAM! Found an almost new one with all attachments for $100, and only 20 minutes from us. Called for address only to learn it's SOLD.
Man, do I feel like I missed out!
I comfort myself by thinking perhaps it was a scam.... Or a CL stalker.....  :-X
Yeah, right.  :'(

Someone in Columbus OH is selling refurbished Dyson V6 Motorheads on eBay for $30. They have 10 of them. Well, nine now. Heh heh.

It has been pulled because there was an error in the listing.

Good luck on getting yours!

Thanks Michelle,

My monthly donation to Costo went up a lot with a new V6 Motorhead thanks to you and the others.  I took it home and had to play, and my previous Kirby has been doing a crap job as I found very fast.  What a great piece of lightweight home help.

Next to do the FT and get it back to spotless as I am sure the built in is not the greatest.

Speedbird 1.

Don't ask how I know this ...

When you see an eBay seller with a quantity of a popular item at a price too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

It's a scam.

Either a stolen ebay account or a new account.

They hope to sell them all and pocket the money. They hope some buyers will let time slip by and not file for a refund.

These sellers get shut down pretty quickly by EBay, but not always quickly enough.
