Title: TV booster actual location?
Post by: Protech Racing on June 21, 2017, 09:40:01 am
Did the search of course..  Ordered the  King Jack head.  I have 4 Co -ax cables near the TV .  I figured that the only one going through the closet should be the overhead antenna  lead.    I have no contiguity from the TV case to the  roof cable and there seems to be a junction over the frig.  Tested all of the cables.
Would the booster box be mounted over the fridge ?  It does not seem to be in the TV case area .  TIA,MM

Check the floor of the closet under the carpet. Switches may be up front behind the driver.

In my '87 it was in the cabinet above the driver's forehead.

Our switches are up there facing forward on the outside of the cabinet. Easy to pull the liner off the inside to get at them if you have to. Took me a while to figure out why the TV didn't work.

If it has the simple Winegard switch in the front cabinet, with small wires to it, then it's the control to the switch box, which has the ant amp built into it. You will find that in the lower left side of the closet. All the cables distribute from there. You'll need to pull up the carpet and plywood.
Those boxes create horrible noise . I would get rid of it, and install a manual switch box in the closet

Thankyou, found the amp next to the vacuum. under the wood in the closet .  So there also is a switch panel near the front someplace?  I looked in the overheads  and near the front monitor . Not much to see and no obvious switch panels.  I will look a round some more  and pinout the cables.  Thanks for the help/ MM

You might look on the closet wall for a slider type of switch that would choose between cable or antenna. Not sure what year they changed to the switch over the drivers head no the front edge of the overhead cabinet.

Thanks, still can t find the change over switch.  Nothing in the front at all.  Maybe it does not have one , as there are 4 cable ends in the TV box.  It's not really a big deal yet as when we use the bus we are biking/drinking ,eating . Kayaking etc.
It just seemed so simple that I should hook it up.

Is there a switcher in the bedroom
I would say 4 cables =
1 roof ant in
2 outside cable in
3 vcr in
4 to tv's
They should be labeled
If you find the roof ant coax, and take it out of the distribution amp/switcher, you'll need to buy a stand alone amp. Unless you bought the Jack with the amp included, use it.
