So took out sat controller and associated wine guard box. (FREE) During the demo needed to cut 110v wire to sat box...Bang
yes all panel breakers were OFF except for AC which still workS
IS THERE ANOTHER 110V BREAKER OR FUZE.
Do you have the schematic for your coach? There should be one on this site or that failing, I can post one. Did you check the 110V breakers at the bottom of the bed?
Pierce
During your operation, what was the source of your 110V (shore, generator, or inverter)?
Possibly fed off the inverter (if you have one)?
That's what I thought... ALL breakers OFF except for the 2 AC.
Turned all breakers back on... 2 plugs don't work.. hmmm bedroom works.
Shore power, inverter yes.. no issues
So the tv outlet fed out of the closet, the bathroom outlet, and the kit outlet under the spice rack.
Is it possible these are not on a breaker? Then the short would have affected the outlet connections?
Wiring diagram.. if I could see it.. too smal..lol
John, my sat receiver is in the top closet shelf, plugs into an outlet tucked behind the bedroom drawers and runs off the gfi circuit in the bathroom. Don't know if yours is the same.
When you say ALL circuit breakers off.........did you INCLUDE the inverted breakers also? They run 110 whether you have the inverter on or not, when plugged in.
Could have tripped the GFI.
Also, could have tripped an in-inverter breaker.
Twig.. same set up except mine is in the floor of cl..
Brett, allok.. turned off on all breakers including shore post..
Everything else is ok.. just thoes 3 outlets. :headwall:
All but three outlets suggest a GFI. Could be in galley, head or even basement. If other things powered by the inverter (like microwave) also off, that would suggest breaker on/in the inverter.
Brett, the GFI is in the bathroom.. I can push it in.. no click.
Could it have short circuited?
Is the wet bay outlet on same curit?
Ok.. further I have one of those yellow three light testers. In each of the circuits I have mentioned the one by the microwave, the one by the TV, and under the counter all have 2 outer lights on which on the device is not correspond to anything. YES IT DOES-HOT GROUND REVERSED.
SO IF I SWITCHED THE BLK AND WHITE WIRES TO THE OPPOSITE SIDES...
The electrical outlet in the Water Bay says there is an open neutral. I hope that helps with helping me.
Could I have switched one of the wires when I replaced the new Water Bay plug? But wait, I did that yesterday the short was on friday.
Be very careful with rewiring-- hot and ground reversed means all the metal on your coach is HOT-- DANGER.
At a regular "house type" outlet, the round is ground, short straight is not and long straight is neutral.
Do not plug in or turn on inverter or generator until you have this sorted out. I always trust a good digital VOM more than the little idiot light testers.
After some time I figured out the GFI was kaput. It caused thoes bad readings from the other plugs... so now it all works, including the inverter...
