Title: charge/boost switch
Post by: Jane and Gerry on July 15, 2017, 08:44:03 pm
I'm having trouble finding a charge/boost switch for my 1987 Grand Villa.  It is a carling 4 spade illuminated toggle switch.  Thanks for any help.  I feel a little bad, I've gotten so much from this forum, but have contributed nothing. Again thanks  Gerry

Have you checked with the parts counter at FOT?  That would be my first stop (in person, or by phone).

Thanks all.  Sure enough FOT had the part.  They sure are a nice group of people to deal with.

I wonder if you have tried to cycle the existing switch, by that I mean pushing down on the spring side ?
The reason I say this is that I had a similar problem and it happened that the boost switch was a little sticky, with a couple of gentle pushes on the spring side it released and the solenoid started to work again.

Another thing to try is to spray some electronics contact cleaner into the switch body while working the switch on and off.

Something like this:  Amazon.com: CRC QD Plastic Safe Liquid Contact Cleaner, 11 oz Aerosol Can,... (http://www.amazon.com/CRC-Plastic-Contact-Cleaner-Aerosol/dp/B000BXKZVA)
