D2,valve maybe stuck.

Pump brakes until zero.  See if it frees up the valve

Call the tow truck and have him bring a D2 valve, they are everywhere. You need a spare anyway.

Maybe the exhaust has melted an air line

Very limited service.
Daughter coming to get wife.
AAA found another truck.
Pumping and pounding did no good.
Exhaust blew off right where it connects to the turbo.  Hard to load pics.  Well tri in another separate post.

On the turbo part, maybe you can get some bailing wire or something to hold exhaust in place til you get home or possibly find the
clamp somewhere. The idea about the melted hose sounds good.

I noticed that on my air guage, the white needle (rear air?) was running much lower than the red one.
This means what?

Big air leak in rear. Probably not governor related. On the road it is hard to hear an air leak in the rear with the exhaust hooked up With the engine running.  In your case almost impossible. Maybe run at high idle to build pressure shut off engine and run to the rear to try to hear where it is coming from.

Some small good news.  Appears I just blew a clamp holding the exhaust onto the turbo.  No melted hosts I could see though.
At idle, both pointers at 70.

Back to possible governor problem then. When you shut it off does it hold pressure. Also  when you rev it up does it build more pressure?

No increase at higher revs.
Testing leak down now.
10 lbs in 6 min.  Both needles equal

Make sure the pipe from the turbo is clamped and secured. The insulation is super flammable and does not take much to ignite it. One member lost his coach because the turbo pipe came off.

Poor alice.
Towed away in disgrace!
Road service/tow operator claims a couple of air leaks in rear.  Not too concerned about exhaust.

Thanks to all who offered help and support!
It's truly great to know there are a group willing to help.
1)  DW and I make it to home base at 0600.
2)  Alice made it to the shop at 0500.  A local shop, BTW.  They work on big rigs and are going to help.
3)  Educated guess, either a couple of bad hoses or cans, or both.
4)  Exhaust does not sound like an issue to fix.

To the gentleman from CA who called me personally, all I can say is thank you very much.

Once stuff like this happens, you are never as skeezed out by it again. When we picked up our first coach in Mesa, AZ and learned how to drive it on the way back to Philadelphia, we discovered that there were holes in the manifold and in the intercooler.  Our first 3 Coachbucks were spent at the Freightliner location in OKC.  We spent 5 days in a parking lot in Fort Stockton, TX waiting for parts from Tennessee (!) ... watched a sunset in Bakersfield waiting for a roadside mechanic to fix an airleak after a faulty install of our AirForce 1 breaking system melted an airline (this was AFTER the 1st faulty install was supposedly corrected in San Antonio!) ... watched hypnotically as our air pressure was dropping rapidly on a hectically busy interstate outside of Atlanta (alarm bells dinging and hearts pounding!), but were able to coast into a rest stop in time to release the air brake (whew!) and call Good Sam.  THAT one was a cracked brass fitting that the airline attached to!

If you are gonna enjoy this Forum to the fullest, you have to have your share of War Stories and Near Misses and How the Heck Did THAT Happen tales.  In my personal opinion, the BEST stories involve commodes.  But, that is just me.

Commodes?
I'm not really sure I want to know.
I mean I do, but it's like driving past an accident on the interstate.  You don't wanna look, but you do anyway.

Just do a search for "Turbo Turd 3000" on this Forum - you'll read ALL about it.

What did the shop find wrong with your air system?

Exhaust fell away from the turbo and as a result, the exhaust gases melted multiple lines.
Mechanic was amazed that the old girl was able to maintain 70# at all.
"Good Alice"!
