Title: Best Factory Service Centers
Post by: floridarandy on August 08, 2017, 02:44:15 pm
RV component manufacturers are located around the US and I've seen some posts here about service being offered at component manufacturer facilities.  One that comes to mind is HWH's home in Moscow, Iowa.

I'm hoping this post will generate replies from folks who've used other factory-owned service centers with success.

If components have multiple service centers (Cummins and Allison come to mind) then your experience with a regional center is great.

If there's something else in these factory facilities like tours of note please add that to your comments.

Let's keep this to factory-oriented service centers even though I can fully understand and appreciate there must be 1000's of really find "local" repair shops who could do work on any/all FT components or systems.

Thanks

Randy

So it looks like MCD Innovations is in McKinney, TX?

And, Zip Dee is located in Elk Grove Village, IL?

Detroit Diesel Allison in Tampa has great customer service, did a very good job of tackling a transmission leak for me, very easy to find, right off highway 301 & close to I-4. they also have 9 more service centers in FL see Florida Detroit Diesel-Allison | Welcome (http://www.fdda.com) Also just had all windows & door de-snaked at Suncoast Designers Suncoast Designers | RV Window Repair Specialists in Hudson, FL (http://www.suncoastdesigners.com) not far from Clearwater on FL west coast.

FWIW, I'm trying to schedule a trip back to Florida to test Suncoast Designers lifetime warranty for window repair.  A number of their repaired seals are starting to snake after four years.

Brett, sent you a PM< this may be a topic for discussion on a separate thread sometime...seems there is an alternative in that one can remove windows & send to them, most likely at one's own expense...not very reassuring I know...(mods feel free to split this one off into it's own discussion if desired?)

Went to Lee Smith in Chattanooga and received a cold reception.  Treated as if I was in their way.  Had bad air leak.  Left and called Tennessee RV they could see me in two weeks.  This occurred last March.  Drove all the way to Texas and took to MOT.  No place like home.

Let's remember, per the OP's request, this is a discussion of Factory Service centers, not service centers in general.  Factory = manufacturer of the product and their factory-owned locations.

Also, highly recommend that folks use RV Service Reviews (http://www.rvservicereviews.com) to log their experiences with service in general.  It's a much larger pool of reviews and a valuable resource to all RVers (no affiliation, just think it's a good site).
