Title: 1987 Grandvilla OREG Project WE ARE GEEKED
Post by: JimV on August 12, 2017, 05:16:36 pm
Hello. My wife and I found a 1987 Grandvilla parked and sunk into the dirt up to its axles. Sure wish I'd snapped pix of it like that, but it is now up and out, and nearly ready to drive the 20 miles home where we can really get to work on it. Would've picked a diesel if ordering, but this has a new engine, so hopefully, lots of miles left.
So excited to find and rescue this grand old lady. Gonna take a lot of elbow grease and not sure yet what all, but the selling price was too good to walk away from. They were asking $3K. Not sure what was wrong with the engine and the big awning got a support arm busted and lost its springiness. The whole thing looked like it had been rode hard and put away wet. I offered 2 and they were happy to take it to get it out of (literally) the lawn and see someone use it again.
Let the fun begin.
I'm sure I'll be here often with questions and to get ideas.

Congratulations on your Grand Villa, as I myself have the same (87 GV 36' OREG) Alway work to be done but enjoy doing it! Happy motoring!

Congrats on your new hobby. Expensive and time consuming but ultimately rewarding.
