After getting home.. reading the owners manual, making countless trips out to the U300 to test what I just read, I am so impressed.
The woodwork is really top notch. She's dusty, dirty, and was housing a couple wasp nests.. Good bones for sure. I am starting to learn why you all love them..
A couple folks have sent me their contact info for help with little things not worth posting.. I really wish the manual included pictures. I understand what I read most the time but I find I am still confused by what I see.
Are the duplicate belts a redundant fail safe? I parked it for 2 days and the batteris went dead... I may have caused it, but I just parked. ?
I found mileage from 2008.. 13,000 miles in the last 10 years. With 2 months elbo grease, she'll be back on the road for a decades worth of miles in the next year.
Noodie observation is Mike Leary scrambling to pull in the awnings dressed in all natural if IRC. Duplicate belts are NOT fail safe, you MUST buy matched belts or I have heard the term sister or tandem belts. They have a "lot" number and a three digit code afterwards that MUST very close to consecutive. Auto parts stores are clueless. Most hd truck places understand length matched tandem belts. My unmatched $70 gates green stripe belts failed after 1400 miles due to unequal tension. They MU$T be replaced in identical pairs.p

Sorry for the typo... my ex-wife is the nudist. I usually wear clothes.
Remember Detroit two strokes require 40 wt or 50 wt CF-2 oil and it will use or leak more than you are used to. It's easily available at farm supply stores in 1gal, 2gal, 5gal, and 55gal drums. Don't use 15w40 diesel oil.

Thanks for the oil reccomendations. Enough folks have mentioned it that it must be pretty darn important!
My mechanic friend said the DD 6v92 doesn't leak oil... it "slobbers". There isn't much oil on the bottom of the engine. But there is oil on the bottom. It hasn't left it's mark on the driveway... yet :). Unlike the other 2 I looked at, the oil pan on this one isn't punched in. I can tell they haven't cleaned it. The rodent dropping and fallen insulation on top are proof of that.
I'll bite; what is a Noodie?
Is that an alternate spelling for Newbie or Noobie?
