I am wanting to convert my headlights to LED, but I am looking for a plug and play option. Can anyone tell me if the 1986 model used Chevy, Ford, etc., I would like to be able to search by their original automobile use model.
Thanks,
Mike T.
Link below to the beamalarm collection of headlight/taillight knowledge. Doesn't cover the '86 models, so I can't answer your question. Sorry.

Mike,
I don't think your headlights are model specific. They appear to Sealed Beam Headlamps which are a single glass bulb. Back then the bulbs were standardized and the car manufactures design the headlamp area around these standard headlamps.
The holder that Foretravel used might be GM or Ford but I would keep that part and change out the Sealed Beam with an LED assembly. I would think finding alternative LEDs would be easy once you identify the Sealed Beam size you have.
Here's a good article: http://www.carid.com/articles/brief-history-of-sealed-beam-headlights-in-us.html
When I put new sealed beam units in, the difference was quite startling, so I didn't bother with the LED upgrade. Now if I can only get those upside down Isuzu tail lights to work >:D

My 88 has 4of 4X6. in GM retainers. I changed them to "Sylvania Halogen performance"
100 % bette r than the OE and better than the H4 Chinese. No idea on LED for the 4x6. We use LED light bars on the endurance race cars.
