PRODUCT ENDORSEMENT:
I have never been so pleased or so impressed with results.
Did way too much even after I was pretty low on elbow grease.
But it was so thrilling to see the beauty of the wood reborn!
Here's a shot of the big drawer front below the oven.
--And that light spot toward the top on the right turned out to be beautiful, like a golden sapphire.
What an enormous difference this $10 bottle of stuff is making.
And an extra good feeling because it's made with bee's wax, and we raise bees.
Plugging away,
~Diane
Get a can of Zep Wood Dr. You'll step back and slap your Mama it works so good.

The ZEP goes away
Diane, I am glad you like it. We like Howard's Feed and Wax too. Zep stuff not so much. Especially for the price. Stump, try this stuff, you will toss your ZEP.
And I didn't much care for the Wood Doc MSDS.
Use what makes you happy to paraphrase an old friend.
Thanks Stump, but don't like using aerosol on that big of a job.
Besides, I would never slap my mamma! :o :D
We did our with the Feed N Wax.. Works great!!!! I had a few little scratches that just disappear. Nice glow when finished.. worked so good my mother inlaw borrowed my bottle and I have yet to get it back. Boy if she wasnt related I tell you.
I agree with you Roger. Zep is to strong for such a small space and the smell lingers for a long time. The aerosol is difficult to control the over spray. They have the Howards in the Ace Hardware near me. After reading the MSDS we will have to switch.
Thanks,
John M.
X3. We bought 2 cans of ZEP last visit to FOT. Tried it in the house on one of our kitchen cabinets. WAY too strong odor - took a week for it to dissipate. DW said NO WAY we are using that stuff in the coach! We'll give the Feed & Wax a try - thanks for the tip!
I was just in a fancy clock shop where grandfather clocks were as much as $175,000. Really. They had a nice display of all of the different Howard's wood care products that they recommended for the clocks they sold. We have been using it for several years in our coach. It is easy to use and keeps that warm soft luster that we like.
Side by side comparison looks awesome, better than a boatload of testimonials
Oregon Motor Coach turned us on to it.
good stuff. My DW named our coach woody after wiping down the whole dam coach with it, and realizing there's a lot of real wood in em.
It should be called Roger's Feed & Wax.
Thanks for the tip Roger, I now use it extensively in our house now as well as in the FT.
What's the general scent of the Howard's?
It says "Beeswax & Orange Oil" on the label (photo in 1st post), so I'm guessing..........orange scent?

Like strolling through an orange grove in Florida in springtime.
Maybe a bit orange but mild. Put a little on a small rag, wipe it on, a very light coat, especially around knobs and anywhere you touch or might get wet, under water pump switches, in front the sinks, next to toilet. Let it sit for a while and wipe it dry. Don't use too much. Easier to do it more often. We rarely do the whole coach at once unless it is going to get stord for a while. When we are traveling we do one area at a time and spread the task out. It is less than $10 at Amazon for a bottle that will last several years. A low risk to try. Big benefit if you like it.
Just got back from a run into town. Bought the same bottle shown in the photo (OP) for 7.98 + tax at Lowe's. Looking forward to trying it!
Chuck,
You're gonna love it. It deep cleans the wood very well and will darken scratches and water spots. After two applications I was really amazed!
Jerry
Michelle, it is very low odor. Leaves behind no noticeable smell. While using it, the smell is mild citrus and beeswax. Quite pleasant.
We use Old English furniture oil, do you consider this better than that?
Also, as a wax do you have any issues with wax build up?
Jimmy,
We used Old English for years till we met a fellow that was a custom furniture builder and he recommended F-N-W so we/I gave it a try. Won't go back.
No noticeable wax build up yet and that is over about 4 years.
Pamela
Thanks! I have chemical sensitivities so I need to be careful with cleaning products.
"No noticeable wax build up yet and that is over about 4 years."
Good to know, Pamela
Our wood was so dry and dull, it just drank this stuff up. The directions say to go back after 20 minutes to wipe off any excess and buff. Haven't found any excess yet, lol.
Hubby and I agree we just added thousands to the value of our coach for less than $10, two old cotton tee shirts, and that time/elbow grease combo!
Diane
Jimmy, can't speak to the build up, but I see Pamela has addressed that. I will say, this product is nicer to use than Old English. It's thicker so it doesn't run off the rag but stays where you put it. And though Old English does a nice job disguising scuffs and scratches, this stuff goes way beyond to restore the luster and depth of grain. I had to keep stopping for before and after photos. Ha!
Don't tell 'Howard' I said this, but I'd pay WAY more for this product and be glad to have it!
I bought a 1/2 gallon bottle of "Touch of Bees Wax with Orange Oil" at the Quartzsite RV show several years ago. It was recommended by another Foretravel Owner and I like it better than the . See the website: Touch Of Oranges Wood Cleaner and Beeswax Re-Conditioner (http://www.TouchOfOranges.com) which shows a picture of all the bottles of wax and cleaner that "Livus Marketing Inc of Cottonwood CA" sells. In this picture is a bottle of Howard Restor A Finish.
Is anyone else using "Touch of Beeswax"? I wonder how it compares to the Howard product, both have orange and Beeswax!
I also bought ZEP Wood Doctor from Foretravel and do not like the over spray or the odour. I believe it is more cleaner then waxer.
Should have said "I like it better then ZEP Wood Doctor which Foretravel recommends.
Boy, after reading that MSDS, I think I'll,try Howard's as well.
Wyatt, the Howard Wax-n-Feed recommends starting with the Restorer product you mentioned. I didn't do that but used only the beeswax and orange oil stuff in the photo. I can't imagine how it could work better. Maybe that would help longevity? I imagine these two products must be quie similar. The Howard is like a thick gel/goop, so you can really control application on vertical and uneven surfaces. Nothing runny or dripping.
Diane
Prolly either or. We are picky, picky about smells and use ZEP. The coating that almost wrecked our buying this coach, was the PO used "Scott's Liquid Gold", which took us months to get rid of the obnoxious smell!
The restore a finish has different colors to match wood. How do we know which wood is used in each coach? I know there is more than one.
The Howard Restorer product is like a rub in stain finish and has a strong smell to it. It is mainly for colors that have faded. It comes in different colors. Rub in with 0000 steel wool then wipe off. I purchased the Feed-N-Wax only at Ace Hardware $9.95.

ZEP is rated for pine, cherry, cedar, mahogany, walnut, oak, teak, maple and rosewood ! ^.^d
Here's an excellent demo on Howard's products.

I'm stoked about receiving the Howard's on Tuesday, and letting the dw try the foretravel diet on the inside of the coach, while I work on other issues. Oh BTW, one of those issues is the genset muffler cause we don't have anything but 15 amp power to her yet. So it may be somewhat warm inside.
Got a bottle of Howard's feed and wax from True Value. Great stuff gives the walnut a like new look, also covers minor scratches. 👍👍👍
