Greetings to all. Been following this site since January, figured it was time to get involved. First and foremost simply cannot express my gratitude to all who have put the time and effort to this site and the Beam Alarm site with information on Foretravel rigs. Use the search function a lot and learned so much. Cruise this site daily and have read over 1/2 of the archives. A little bio. I am the 3rd owner of a 1990 Grandvilla 40 ft coach. 6V92 Detroit Diesel, 4 spd Allison w/ retarder. Have every scrap of paper including the original factory invoice. Stored inside all her life in a temperature controlled barn, had 58,000 original miles and 361 hours on the Genset when we bought her in December. Truly mint condition. Have known PO for years and have lusted after this coach for at least 7 years. PO had some health issues and 3,000 miles last 10 years. Been trying to buy her but could never get to where I needed it to be price wise. Upon his passing his wife let us know at his funeral he always wanted us to have it as was sure we would take good care of her and made us an offer I could not refuse. Trust me will not let him down. Have been working over infrastructure and anything to make the rig more reliable and livable. LED lighting, solar panels, all fluids etc. New TV's, backup cam ( thanks Tim at RV cams) and a host of other things. Not too concerned about interior upgrades just yet. All the mirrors and gold trim are old school, but then again, so am I. True class never goes out of style. DW and I own the Baskin Robbins store in Patterson and guess I should also give a shout out to the Foretravel Offroad folks. Been paying close attention to them as I am Sales Administrator for Honda, Kawasaki, KTM. ( and Beta ) of Modesto. Been long winded here so will wrap this up.
If any of you Foretravel folks ever are in the area and looking for a banana split or get in a jam of any kind, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are located on Interstate 5 in central CA. about 30 miles south of Tracy. Patterson / Sperry Road offramp. ( only one for Patterson ). 2 miles east on the same road. There is a brand new Flying J truckstop 1/2 mile west of us and the largest super Walmart Store in Stanislaus county is directly across the street. Been in these parts since 78 so from tires to welders and anything in between I know where to go and who to call to get it fixed. Further have a Grainger account and there 1.2 million sq ft warehouse 1 mile away is available 24/7. Can put you down in our center for the night and if extended stay required as a member of Masonic Lodge 488 can do that as well at our lodge.
Again I appreciate all the knowledge here and hope to make small contributions if I can
Wow! Congrats. Love your background story. It is like the guy who finds a '23 Bentley under a tarp in an old barn. Best of luck with your wonderful coach in the future.
What a great post Steve...best wishes with your dream coach and thanks much for your offers of help. 😃
Welcome to the Forum, Steve & Lori. You guys sound like exactly the kind of people we need around here! A owner group such as ours can only "live long and prosper" by gaining new members who are willing to contribute to the collective wisdom. We welcome your fresh ideas and input.
Looking forward to seeing some glossy 8 x 10 photos of your new-to-you classic Foretravel.
PS: GV's Rule! 8)
Welcome, great story.
Now see, that's how to get help with questions. Give the address of the ice cream store you own. I'd even consider entering California again for a great banana split! ^.^d ;)
Welcome; another example of why this forum is so great. Members selfishly sharing knowledge and expertise. Thank you to all our forum members past and present.
Welcome, always happy with new members on the site, as well as a GV ^.^d .
We don't live that far away and head down I-5 on the way to SCal quite often. Will give you a call sometimes and we can compare Detroit notes. Good to have you onboard. Naturally, you would have to promise cool weather in the valley. :D

Welcome, what a great first post... love the sound of those GV's! Looking foreard to seeing some pictures of your coach. We go up and down the I5 occasionally (well, pretty much whenever we go north ;) ), maybe we will get to see it in person one of these days. ^.^d

Welcome to the group.
My retirement hobby/biz has been to rebuild KTM rfs engines. Built several hundred since 2002.
Large stock of engines and parts. All the rare race stuff plus the std stuff
Steve and Lori,

Day late and dollar short. I just drove from Hollister back to NM last week by way of 5. Could have used some ice cream, it was 103.
Welcome...as newer members ourselves we know how gifted all FT owners are by the Forum and its generous contributors. Looking forward to hearing (and seeing) more about your special rig.

Hey Steve, welcome to the group.
I can sympathize with your lusting after a Grand Villa. DW and I feel it represents THE best of the best. I run into people with newer or bigger coaches all the time that either match the features of our GV or fall short of our 22 year old coach. Enjoy your new treasure !!
Hello Brother Steve, Now you have a new way to travel from West to East. . .

Welcome Steve and Lori! We aren't that far away from you so hope to meet you guys somewhere. Your rig sounds like a beauty :-). Thanks for joining in on the forum.
Welcome Steve and Lori! My brother lives in Marysville, so I make it around those parts once in a while. Hope to see you at one of our gatherings (Quartzsite?).

Brother Steve and Lori, welcome.
I hope to be up in that part of the woods in a few of months and maybe we can stop by for a New Years ice cream cone and I can visit the lodge. Best wishes on you new coach,
