Title: Tour of our 95 U300SE, Including bunk room remodel!
Post by: Walkerfam7 on September 26, 2017, 08:38:14 pm
Hi Foretraveling friends!  As usual, it's been a while, which for us is a good thing because it means our amazing coach has not had any issues. We are still, almost two years later, still in love with our home and even more so now that we finally remodeled the back bedroom into a bunk room for our boys.  We finally have freedom after bedtime and early in the morning!!!!

So, without further ado, come take a tour of our coach (formerly, Jor's coach) and see what we did to suit our full time family of seven. And please excuse how awful dirty the outside of our coach is.  We arrived on a muddy rainy day at a campground and haven't had the chance to clean it since.  It's getting cleaned this week in our nice shady spot at a friends house!  Time to put those boys to work!

Trent and Siobhan,
I enjoyed the video tour of your motorhome.  I applaud you both on your courageous journey with your five boys in such a small space.  May God continue to be with you all as you travel and discover the beauty of God in this great country of ours.  Enjoy the time with your boys and continue to build memories with them.  May God bless you and keep you all safe in your travels.

Congratulations to the 2 of you. You are a perfect advertisement for Family values and the Boys are obviously going to be on the right side of life when they leave to explore the world and possibilities later.
You have taken on a way of life all packed into an RV that I guarantee most would not consider, so, keep on trucking as your smiles suggest you are "loving it". What a great video.
Thank you for sharing you home with us.

Loved your video. Traveling with 5 young boys has to be an adventure in its self. We loved your bunk room and your innovative ideas through out the coach.  Great utilization of space. Stay safe.

Thank you ALL for your kind words!  We love this community so much!  Always so kind to our family <3 We are truly blessed that we get to live this life!  Yes, full-timing with 5 boys is an adventure all in itself for sure!  They keep us on our toes and we enjoy every minute of it....well...MOST minutes of it...lol!  We all have our days, but that is the same in an RV or a house.
Anyways, thank you all for watching our tour!  God bless you all in your adventures!

Nice video. People have always told me that kids don't like to travel and are happiest at home. While we only had two, we put a fold out playpen in the trunk of our car and stopped every couple of hours to let them play. They are grown now with one living in OZ and the other thinking about a move. Good for you guys as your kids will have learned all about travel and the great people and animals that live in distant places. Have you gone to Canada or Mexico yet?

Your video is a real example of real family values not a meaningless campaign slogan.

HI Pierce!
We have not yet been to Canada or Mexico, but we have a possibility to go to Canada in a couple of weeks that we are considering.  It would be our boys' first time "out of the country", so it would be a new adventure for them :)

Thanks for posting the nice clip of your family's rig and style. The video should be shown to lots of young folks with kids. Good role models for others. One of your kids could turn into a great diesel mechanic, too. Floor it!

Yeah pretty cold up here. Was 100 with the humidity for the last week. Getting the sweaters out now that we are in the 60s at night.

Also  is there a link to what exactly you did to make the sofa comfortable to sleep on?

Totally awesome guys! We are traveling with three little ones in our GrandVilla as well. I really really like your bunk room. We could do something similar with ours. We'd have to figure out the front room situation though cause we have an engine bay. The office up there is also brilliant. Not sure if we could do that, cause we have the front engine.

Hope we can meet up on the road sometime. :)

Trent and Siobhan,
Great remodel to accommodate your wonderful family. I was amazed when I met you at the FMCA campground a while back. So glad to hear the coach is working well mechanically and living-wise. Stay wonderful...

I was getting on Trent for his camera work there...lol.  I actually showed it and he had the camera in the wrong place...lol.  I think I am going to make a few videos of all of the things that didn't make it into the tour, but should have and that's one of them.  So, basically what we did is we cut bubble insulation (like the silver stuff you put in your windshield to reflect the heat) to fit the sections on the bed that dip down.  There are two layers laying in each dip to fill it in.  Then we ordered a 3" thick memory foam topper to cover the whole thing.  When we travel all of that comes up and gets stored on the map rug in the back bunkroom and the couch gets set back up so that we have the seat belts available for the boys.  Hopefully that makes sense and hopefully I will have a video soon of how we made our couch bed comfortable.

We would love to meet up sometime!  Where are you guys currently?  We are in Washington DC and will be in the Northeast pretty much all fall/early winter and then to Florida to get warm again :)
