This project took WAY longer than I was expecting. But it also looks much better than I was expecting! Big thanks to my brother in law for the motivation and assistance.
While we were doing this project we also got the couch re-upholstered by a 3rd party. And made modifications to the bed for our new little one (more on that in a later post). Feels like we are in a brand new home! We used some quality peel and stick tiling on the surfaces where there was vertical carpet.
I am particularly proud of the toilet, which required a TON of prep work (it was really nasty under there... carpet under toilet is probably the biggest head-scratcher of all FT design decisions for me). I also included a picture of how we dealt with the wire run box on the side of the living area, since that usually a question I see asked.
Looks great!
Nice job. What is the product you installed underneath the flooring?
James,
Nice job! Looks great!
John M
good inspiration, well done!
Dang, that looks like real work! Nice job.
Great looking results, James. Your cabinet color and floor work great together! Good project. Do you guys hire out your talents?
That's just standard 2mm underlayment. The flooring planks we chose already had it attached, but we elected to add an extra layer in certain areas to meet up with the height of the old rubber insulation material, as well as for the vapor barrier benefit in the kitchen.
My knees and back would never hold up!! I'll stick to my desk during the week!
