Went with black for the roof equipment. Kinda crowded up there on the 34 footer!

The black surface is 40- 60 degrees hotter than white. I do a science project with my wife's second grade every year . WE walk around the school yard and parking lot with one of my IR guns.
I have a white van and the hood on my race cars are white .

We did a similar experiment at Camp FT a few years ago  ;)

Our white side of painted coach was more than 80 degrees cooler than a black stripe on the side.  Ambient temp was comfortable enough, about 80 as I Recall

He does have a 34 ft coach which is a lot less area to to cool, compared with a 36 or 40 footer. There is a reason the dark painted 45 ft coaches have 4 roof airs.

Nope. I had intended to when I got this rig but it needed other work that took precedence. The original Norcold is still going strong and I have the ARP device to keep us from getting killed. I think when it fails I will probably replace it with another absorption as we like to dry camp more than RV park camp. In my photo above, the plastic frig vent is missing as I hadn't installed it yet. The old one had a couple little cracks so I bought a new one. I'm betting that's what you noticed!
