Will my Dometic nda1402 honout a side window for replacement?
A lot of people have changed them out, if not a side window, definitely through one side of windshield.
See link below. Scroll down to bottom of first page, find exterior dimensions for NDA1402. Measure your window opening.
Note: You can usually remove the doors to make the fridge "skinnier".

My OEM refrig went out passenger window. Not sure which one it was
The Dometic in our 2001 U320 was 12 cu ft. I think the 1402 is 14 cu ft. As far as I can tell the depth is about the same for the two. 320 pounds or more for the 1402. That is really the hard part. Measure the height of the window on the inside trim. The actual opening will be about 1/2" more. I removed the Dometic doors and all of the inside parts. You have to take out the window and all of the window valances, shades and trim. Enlist the help of some friends. Protect the bottom of the window opening with some cardboard and a towel. I rented a hand operated material lift.
The new Samsung weighed less than 1/2 of the Dometic and is almost twice the capacity.
You can get a rubber gasket (from Xtreme) to use when replacing the window. Much neater than the gooey tape.
On our '02 320 single slide, took a 1492 out the passenger side living room window, The drivers side (slide out) wasn't enough space (height) ... used a forklift to take the 1492 out & put the Samsung in.. (Did this @ MOT)
Here's how the factory did it summer of '16 in NAC on our '95:
That "fridge in and out through the side window" is so routine at FOT that the shop guys can do it in their sleep. When they did ours, David Flanagan stepped in to help them lift the Samsung with one hand, while simultaneously using his other hand to talk to a customer on his cell phone. Slick operation! ^.^d
I would think getting the new one in would be more of a problem. cutting up the old one is no problem just stay away from the ammonia . Dangerous stuff

Took the doors off our 19 cuft Samsung countertop depth refrigerator. Fits right through the pass side window. Much easier getting that in then the Dometic out, mostly due to weight. Floorplans may change which window works best for you. Measure first.
