Title: Valve extensions
Post by: Falconguy on November 10, 2017, 07:46:41 pm
Every tire problem I have ever had has been related to  a problem with a valve extension. What is the best solution to this problem? Anyone using these  Dually Valves - Parts (http://yourtireshopsupply.com/category/796_947/duallyvalve-parts)

The only problem I ever had re tires was the fitting of valve extensions on our old GV.  Never again.

I have seen a number of people use these:

Extended Valve Stems (https://www.shinyrv.com/store/p63/Dually_Valve_Stems_for_Motorhomes_with_22.5%22_Alcoa_Aluminum_Wheels_with_1.5_inch_Hand_Hole_-__DL4AC__-_FREE_SHIPPING.html)

I've not yet tried them myself, but several other MH owners that I've talked with swear by them -- even at the pretty steep price.

p.s. these were just the first example I found via google.  There are likely other slightly less expensive versions around.

I think these are now handled by Truck Systems Technologies in Cumming, GA, just got 2 new ones in the mail...excellent customer service, they can handle anything having to do with the TMPS too...

I am not sure which of the items on the page your link goes to, but what I want is a single piece valve stem that extends from the inner dually through the grommet and far enough out to easily get an air chuck on. Also, an outer stem that is turned out so that you can use a straight chuck on it. I am thinking that the long inner dually stem could be straight... something like the package at this link, though pricey.

I purchased the long valve extensions from FT last year. They work without any issues. I think they were about $25

Don and BillO, yes the long valve stems in your links are what I am considering. Pretty pricey, but I have had it with these extensions.

I have been looking, too. Never feel secure with extensions on my inner duallys.

Look up the Beico # VH515S8C  On the stem they are just a 515S8  These are what we run at a lot more reasonable cost. Here is a pack of 10 that some members can share if everyone will get together.  VH515S8C Duallyvalve Chrome Stem 8-1/8in. Qty 10 (http://yourtireshopsupply.com/product/1407/vh515s8c-duallyvalve-chrome-stem-818in-vh515s8c)
Just on this thread there are enough people wanting them to make a "pack" order.

There are others on the net that sell them just look around.
