Existing lamps are a tad dull, and with a quick look, I ASSUMED they were the old style sealed beams.
Nope.
They almost look like a newer style halogen where you replace the bulb and not the lens. Too dark outside to look at right now, but suggestions will help.
Edit: does a 9004 or similar sound right?
You seem to have the same lights as my 2001 (Ford Bronco) and in which case I replaced them with LED's and it made a huge difference.
