Drove the coach for the first time in the rain. Windshield wipers suck. The inboard area of the blade loses contact with the windshield. Arm pivot hinges seem loose enough. Rubber is in good shape. Wiped area is small. Any remedies besides Rain-X?
If you remove the arms and the little cover there's a nut you can tighten, mine where loose and didn't work well after I tighten them up all's good ^.^d .
How old is the rubber, and does your coach live outside? If the coach lives outside you won't get more than about a year out of wiper blades.
When I need new ones I just take the old one into O'Reilly's and tell them I need two new blades. They usually have to go to the back room to find the right size, but so far they have always come up with what I need.
I gave away my Rain-X because I didn't like how it lost purpose. I use Turtle Wax Ice synthetic polish on the windshield & windows instead. I also wipe the rubber blades with it and this increases wiping action and eliminates squeaking.
While we are on windshield wipers, While driving to Florida coming through Georgia my drivers side wiper came loose in the driving rain of Hurricane Irma. When I was able to stop and tighten the arm the wipers got out of synchronization. instead of wiping toward each other and then away from each other they wiped in unison. also when they park the passenger side parks at the bottom center of the windshield as it should, however the drivers side parks vertically at the far left of the wind shield. something got out of synch. any ideas? ??? ???

This was all I could find. Fortunately, our wipers are still synched so I haven't needed to experiment with this procedure.

When the single arm wipers get "loosely goosey", you can order new tapered forcing cones from Foretravel--- they carry them in stock and they are not expensive. This is the part that installs between the wiper drive shaft and the wiper arm. It will take all the slack out of the wiper arm movement and greatly improves the effectiveness of the wipers. Talk to Billy Jack in parts.
I checked for axial play in my arms shaft and could not detect any. I might try stump's arms or maybe reclock the wipers to see if that helps, if I do change where they park I might be able to get 2" longer blades, but that wont help much if they don't touch.
Update ; Got to look at my windshield wiper problem today and got it fixed. ^.^d The drive nut came loose from the motor that powers the arm, back and forth. when I tightened it down while on the road I got it 180 degrees out of time. I loosened the main drive/lock nut and "Flipped" the drive arm to the opposite direction, this brought the wiper arm to rest back where it should have been at the horizontal center of the windshield. No more having one parked in the vertical position on the drivers side of the windshield. ;D
