Title: Genset Radiator Hose Placement
Post by: Travelin' Man (RIP) on November 19, 2017, 11:24:41 am
I replaced the steering box on the FT this last week with a Red Head rebuild (the coach is a pleasure to drive now) and in doing
so I had to remove the genset radiator and fan.

I'm replacing all four radiator hoses on the genset and forgot to note where the two bulkhead-to-radiator hoses attach.  There are two hoses in question, one is 41" long and goes from the tank water neck on the left side of the radiator just inside the compartment door to one of the bulkhead fittings, either top or bottom..............I don't know which.  The other hose is 26.5" long and attaches to the other tank water neck that is out of sight behind the fan shroud, and in turn to the unused bulkhead fitting.

The radiator is probably non-directional in flow and lays face-down over an air opening in the floor, so it probably doesn't make any difference how the hoses hook up.................not like a stand-up radiator that has hot coolant entering the top, and the cooled coolant exiting the bottom.

Does anyone have a FT like mine that they could look at, or have first-hand knowledge?

Just thought I'd check now so that I don't have to drain the coolant and burp the system more than once.
