Are the funky 115 v outlets RV specific? I got three that are hot, but no worky on cords so I assume the contacts inside are bad or broke. Had no luck with probes.
OPP,
Yes, look up WDR-15-BR Diamond self contained receptacle.

Thank you kind sir! Ka-ching ka-ching.
Check your block heater outlet also if you have one. They are really prone to overheating. Ours is just inside the engine compartment.
Pierce
X2 to what Pierce said. I found mine half melted. :( Replaced with an outdoor metal case and 20amp outlet.

Have not dared turned on the engine block heater, after smoking the microwave, currently my coach is 200 feet away from the electrical panel. Best I can do is about a 1000 Watts. This coach was a SoCal coach, so the block heater may have never been used. Had to make a run to get propane and that big old cat engine fired right up at 25 degrees.
Phred Still have to marvel that your Charles white coach i readied and modded and drove it and helped my new salesman sell it.
Does your coach have any rear end light howl under power up any grade?
Nope, in fact I had no clue that I had just climbed a 14 mile 6% grade, and was supposed to shift down. All temperatures were somewhat elevated at 63 mph. But none were near the red zone. No toad for the 1500 mile journey home in a 28 year old motorcoach.
Other than the full exhaust manifold and turbo blankets pm me the other modifications. Wasn't blowing black smoke on the 6%.
I changed the rear axle oil from the oem 85 Weight gear oil to 140 weight B&M racing oil with several cans of gm positraction additive.
Original oil showed the "truck" finished rear gear teeth's negatives. Under load howl. Especially as the rear end was flipped over and being driven from the rear versus from a front drive shaft.
Oshkosh speced a less expensive rear axle as Foretravel wanted a less expensive chassis than the much more expensive Gillig commercial RTD bus chassis.
The gillig used much larger brakes, a double locating arm front axle mounting system with large HEIM joints on both ends of all four arms which allowed the front suspension to go through its travel without a change in the kingpin angle so the self steering part of the design did not change as the suspension went through its travel.
Not as noticeable on the super slab interstate system as much as rolling radius secondary roads.
The giilig uses Rockwell axles with "whisper quiet" tm rear axle gears that had polished teeth to eliminate any underload gear teeth noise. Made for a bus carrying passengers not a truck.
I understood that The ORED's rear axles pumpkin can be pulled after 40k miles of use and the backlash can be reset tighter as the gear teeth's rougher finish had worn in to the shiny finish the Rockwell came with new.
I was disappointed in the gear noise as it was fairly noticeable so I figured out a local work around.
Only the 300's showed this.
I also swapped the shocks between the 250 cat and 300 cat as one was too stiff and the other too soft.
Got lucky as the swap fixed both models.
Gillig used the Koni redtops stock that the unihomes came with
The Oshkosh salesman was a friend and Foretravel let me order my stores own mix of chassis that were to be made into my stores sales stock. 12 months out roughlly.
I fixed your upshift points as Oshkosh set them too low at 2300 rpms. Reset to 2600. The modulator? That allowed the trans to upshift when you backed off the throttle was set for a 45k fire truck not a 20,000 pound coach.
Coach would "hang" in gear and drag the coach back down in speed.
Allison project manager called me from Indiana and wanted to know why he got a warranty claim from SfJ Chevrolet which was the Allison service place 30 years ago to redo the valve body shift points up and down and reset the trans to not hang in gear.
He laughed that a sales manager in ca. had to fix their mistake.
The cat people had not communicated to Allison in their engineering meetings that the 300 cat had 300 more rpm in its design than the 250.
I also reshimned the front axle as they were set too loose from the manufacturer and the steering wheel would shake on some rough road surfaces.
My vested interest in doing these was to take care of my customers as they trusted me and to be able to earn a reasonable profit for my store and turn around my stores $50k a month losses.
Plus I and my salesman made more money. Imagine that...
Cm Fore shook my hand and thanked me in late 1988 for turning the ca. store around as he said that not having to fund the negative every month allowed them the money to develop the unihome.
Plus it made a net profit. I still have the old statements here. Kinda proud of that.
Was fun. And everyone enjoyed their coaches more fixed. And traded up
Interesting history Bob thank you. Got four new outlets on the way I went to take a look at the one by the preachers seat and tried to get the kitchen drawer out with no luck. So I had the drawer extend all the way out and took a peek back there with my flashlight no wires, they must have fell off while I was wiggling it around.
You own a "bob" coach, I always took/take care of my customers and later owners.
This way you know
