After nine years with Good Sam's we made the change to Coachnet.  Haven't had a need to use them yet ( and hope I never do) but
I have a lot of friends who sing praises for Coach net.  Good luck with your decision.

I have coachnet and have went to use 3 times. 1 jump (figured it out before they got there)
1 tow (boat) 100 miles no charge
1 tow ( motorhome when the alternator died) bought new batteries before they made the tow and drove the last 3 miles I needed to the dealer..

Was happy with the service and the check up calls they made each time.

I used Coachnet twice and could not be happier.

First time I locked the keys in my toad while in Madison, WI. They sent someone out who popped it in about 30 seconds. no charge.

Second time my starter failed outside of Wilmington, NC. They told me they were gonna call around and then call me back with options as far as towing to a shop, mobile mechanic, etc... (it was a friday night around 8PM) The guy from Coachnet called me back about 10 minutes later saying "I know I was gonna give you options but I found a mobile mechanic who only wants $35 an hour and I have never seen anyone that cheap, so I went ahead and sent him". The guy who showed up was awesome, we worked together to remove the starter, took it apart and found it totally burnt up. He took it with him and told me he would check around in the morning when the parts stores opened. He also phoned the local sheriff who he knew personally to inform him I was under his care and not to hassle me (the BBQ restaurant was cool with us spending the night in their parking lot too)

He called me back at 7AM, told me a local shop had a brand new starter in stock and he would rather I pay directly with my creditcard. The price was amazingly cheap, and 8AM he pulled up with the new starter. We installed it and I was on my way after paying him the $150 he charged me and a $100 tip in his pocket.

I'll be a member for life. They are great. I know nothing about good sam, have never tried it, but I dont think you can go wrong with Coachnet.

Coachnet is great. I have used them several times, once for a tow and several times for troubleshooting and tech support.

Between this site, FT and coachnet, you will be well covered.

Another vote for Coach-Net. Our coach broke down mere hours after purchase and had to call coach net on a Friday night in Washington not far from the Canadian border. Towed our 36 Footer to Mt. Vernon then took us to a hotel. The bill would have been $1,700. All I did was hand over the coach net card. That covered the next 6-7 years of membership fees.

We have Safeco insurance. Checked with my agent to compare coverage for the towing etc included with our policy.. Basically we get the same thing for free. Have not used it yet, but number programmed into our phones.

We have Coach-Net and had a issue with them.  Read the fine print especially what they consider for tire work.

I received my FMCA magazine yesterday and they have a new program.  Know nothing about it so this is just a FYI posting:

We have Good Sam have been with them for sixteen years. Had a few assistance calls in that time. Blowouts with the fiver, several, a tow and a ruptured brakes air line with the Foretravel. Have not had any negative issues no need to change.

this topic has come up before and I looked at both of their paperwork- identical so, go with who you like but I again say Good sam as they paid a $1100 tow bill of mine and I did not call them for the tow, and, I contacted them 3 motns after the fact. Not sure Coach net would have done that?

We've had both, but used CoachNet for the last three years with pretty good success. Two tire issues (solved smoothly) and a tow call out of a perfectly good-looking (soggy) field, also well resolved at no cost. I had an SOS call into them on a Friday last year and they offered a tow on Monday. Big disappointment—but I got away with a little help from my Forum Friends.

I suspect that they have a screening device, at dispatch, that goes something like this: "We can send you a tow or a mechanic. You pay "X" per hour on the mechanic and parts are on you. No tow service if you take the mechanical help. What's your choice, Bub?" (They didn't reallycall me Bub, but you get the tone...?)  A lot depends on the TSR on duty when you call, I think.

I have re-upped w/ CoachNet for another year and continue to recommend their "Premium" service to friends.
