I need to see if there is some sort of adjustment on the street side mirror.
When I get the seat adjusted where I can reach everything comfortably about a 1/3rd of the mirror is hidden behind the windshield post as I have to look out the side window not the windshield.
I tried to swing it by hand but it did not want to move.
Should I move it more foreward so it does not stick out so far?
Thanks
There are bolts at both ends of the arm that have to be loosened. then adjust the mirror , tighten when finished.
Steve,
You are in Nacogdoches (or at least the coach is). Look at where others have their mirrors. Make the gross adjustments by moving the arm, then fine adjustments by adjusting the mirrors themselves.
Proper when the mirror surface is "centered in the frame" (side and back of mirror not showing on one side while other side is recessed in the frame.
Thanks Steve, by the time I got there is was dusk and hard to see much but I will definitely loosen them up to adjust
Thanks Brett, yes there are plenty there to look at, I am parked next to one about the same age as mine but maybe a little longer.
From my experience there are 2 primary setting for the side mirror. First is forward such that you look through the windshield to see the mirror. Alternately is to swing the mirror back and look through the side window. Most truckers seem to use the second method.
The length of the mirror arm will determine if you can use the side window position. If the mirror arm is 15" then it will have to be forward. If you have the 18" arm then you can swing it back and view through the side window. ( arm lengths are approximate)
There was a discussion a while back about which was better, forward or side. On my June vacation I ran into a situation which favored the front. The sun was on the left and baking me through the side window, because I have the forward position I just lowered the shade as I didn't need to see out that window for traffic on my left.
