Our coach has the Traveler up top with the control box in the overhead compartment. How much space does the tuner take? What I see for the Genie HD DVR requires 15" of depth, greater than our overhead depth. Are there other options?
At this point I'm simply trying to arrange cabinet space requirements.
Thanks
Our DTV Genie fits in the front overhead space in front of the pass seat. 10" deep. Use a 90° coax and HDMI connector to save some room
Winegard Traveler has multiple models. What is your model #, some have 5-LNB, some 3-LNB, SWM, Directv, Dish, etc. Genie receivers come in several models, older HR34 are larger than later HR44 & HR54. We have HR44 up there, but the door is removed with front of DVR lined up outer edge. And this works just fine for us, and allows much better cooling for our DVRs. For general info, I don't think Genie's cannot connect to OTA devices to play & record.
Randy,
Check to make sure your dish will support HD from Direct TV. Our old in motion will not, so we have to go to Dish to get HD

I just finished doing what you are doing now. I moved the Direct TV receiver to the shelf below the TV, which reduced the wires and mess in the right side compartment. I added a new DVD player (Sony BDPS3700) which fits nicely while resting on a 1/2" wood plank allowing for clearance. I used a Forstner bit to drill a hole in the back of the center compartment, behind TV, to accommodate the receiver wires.
Next step is to set up the Sirius tuner and put the "puck" on the roof.
Sven - did that shelf exist or did you add it?
It was there when we bought the coach. It matches the cabinetry perfectly, so I'm assuming that it is original. It did not appear to be used for anything in the past.
